We remember her grace, her joy, her playful nature.
Filmed while she was playing with all the fish in Dominica.

I am a scuba diver and know the joys and peace of being underwater, but to free dive and be totally at ease at depth! I just read about Sayuri and the feats she accomplished.. May she rest in peace!

I am so saddened by your loss. I have an amazing 6 year old daughter, and I think of how much love and patience and energy I devote to her. To have a friend you’ve trained with, laughed with and explored with depart. May God comfort you and bring light, as she clearly did while with us. May she rest peacefully, until we all dive into the eternal ocean.

Kinoshita was her last name. 2 years ago, this day, July 15 (Japan's National Ocean Day), she died, after falling out of her apartment 4 days earlier.

This is really beautiful. I came to quickly see a snorkelling video on my break. And I stopped everything put on my earphones and finished the video feeling inspired. Thank you for sharing. She looks like she was a beautiful mermaid

Very beautiful video. ❤️ Her family will have a “farewell party” for family and friends “to enjoy a celebration of her amazing life … for a bright and enjoyable day.” This will be separate from her wake and funeral. A gofundme has been set up to help pay for her funeral. “Sayuri has impacted many of us deeply through not only her amazing aquatic abilities but also her unconditional generosity and positive nature,” the gofundme reads. “Her smile and laughter will always be missed. A true mermaid and beautiful woman who brought joy and inspiration to many around the world.”
