It would be better if you compared the same locations, for example the eastmarch or the rift. You can’t really compare for example the Nordic architecture with the Khajiit architecture

Skyrim never gets old. I'm still playing it while switching out different mods. I always wanted to play eso, but I never seem to have enough data to get it downloaded. The downloading keeps restarting from scratch everytime it gets interrupted.

ESO looks great but you start noticing small tricks they did when you look closely. Trees whose branches are 2D and have rows of leaves growing on various 2D planes. Rocks that look round until at one angle you see it’s really a couple of sharp flat edges. Not to mention there are a lot of trees and objects you can just walk right through. But for an MMO it’s still really good.

They probably done this so it would run better on consoles. It's definitely a close comparison thou. I think ESO overall mite be slightly better. With water reflections, character modals, and generally the overall look but Skyrims vegetation and fires look nicer.

It is a single player v.s multiplayer environments. Nevertheless, I do consider that Bethesda needs to come up with a brand new graphic engine.

Skyrim looks more appealing in still-shots, but the graphics in actual gameplay I find ESO better. In Skyrim it gets really bland and boring after awhile, which does fit the aesthetic of the game but it doesn’t really make you want to explore, but in ESO it’s really colourful and in the environment there’s more diversity- which I think makes it more fun to explore. This is just my personal opinion though :)

In TESO, everything looks plastic. I feel like I'm controlling toys in a playground. In Skyrim, everything looks more realistic, just dated graphics. I think it's more to do with the 3d FOV in all directions. Characters feel closer to you, and flesh out more in Skyrim.

I like Skyim much more than ESO. I guess growing up with Skyrim gave me a different idea of how these games are, and the controls in ESO, I found really really..bad? I guess I also have a bias, because of my preference for single player games, and I don’t ewally enjoy being forced to play with people that I don’t know, enjoy, or care about, but- that’s just me

I just recently play ESO because of the quarantine. TBH it feels like single player game more than MMO. They are not as chatty as other MMO and nobody will try to talk to you like on FInal fantasy online community

Let's see, TESO has obviously better models and textures, it's something clear. Now, Skyrim has in my opinion a much better lighting, which is very, very noticeable, it has a greater rendering distance, so the world looks fuller, and definitely the nights and especially the night sky look infinitely better.

In my opinion ESO looks way better than Skyrim. Skyrim may look a bit more realistic, but that's what I don't like. I want my Elder Scrolls games to be fantasy like. Also go to Vivec City in ESO and be ready to drop your jaws, that place is just gorgeous

Random Name morrowind goes back to realistic proportions and details as do most of the DLCs in ESO. One of the major flaws with vanilla eso was that it was exaggerated like WoW and did not take after previous titles. The vanilla zones need to be updated.

Unlike you, i prefer the realistic and well proportioned art in fantasy games, that's why i love games like the witcher series, and i hate games where your character carry a sword that it is five times bigger than him, or games whit a cartoon like desing, because there are a lot of rpg fantasy games like that. That' the reason why tes games are so different from other games like wow, monster hunter, fable etc.

Essentially ESO has better textures, lighting, shadows, and better animations, but Skyrim has better environment design and draw distance. Seems about fitting given that bethesda knows how to create more "natural" environments.

ESO is an MMO RPG which is difficult to optimize - tons of players, master server, LFG system and a bigger map. All these stuff is heavy on resources, so Devs are forced to simplify graphics wherever they can. That's why it doesn't have the level of detail that Skyrim has.

I was playing TESO while it was in beta for free, and it wasnt even remotely looking good as this one... They did good job improving it. As for skyrim, well we ALL know that we play Skyrim just because of mods, and mainly for better graphics, so it should be "Modded Skyrim Vs TESO" to be more realistic comparison... I Love Side by Side comparisons, thats the best way to show something, keep up it PlayGround.

ESO has generally streamlined graphics that all look about equal in detail, whereas Skyrim's shifty production has paired graphical details that look excellent with other things that could use a lot of work, graphically. The stupid clothes irons come to mind, but you can have shots in Skyrim that look better than ESO, and vice-versa. However, ESO's character creation blows Skyrim's far and away.

Only thing I actually like way more in eso is character creation. It's miles better and the khajiit model in eso is so much better looking than Skyrim. After that, Skyrim wins in everything else. Argonians are super ugly in eso

I prefer skyrim's design. It's looks more like nordic while in eso it's like asian design. Plus, skyrim is looks more realistic, effect, and the animation is better. Tbh, eso looks boring, while skyrim in the other hand is single player game but looks more fun to play and explore.

Alvin Kertanegara obviously it is nordic as that is the setting. Oblivion looked great for its time but had a vastly different artstyle. The asian styling is only due to the region of the zone and it is impresive that eso has good environments for having almost all of tamriel to explore. I would say that eso is technically superior whereas skyrim has a more seamless world. Skyrim has horrible animations that even mods cannot fix.

I mean if he went to skyrim in eso it would have that Nordic design but he is in elven areas and some people fail to realize that eso is an mmo which usually have to have worse graphics to compensate for the sheer amount of entities on screen so performance isn’t hit to hard. Eso is also probably the best looking mmo if your not a fan of the anime look of Black desert

The difference in graphics between these two games is the physics. ESO doesnt have the realistic 'heaviness' and the object interaction that Skyrim has. That's why the battles, movements, etc, aren't as satisfying to look at in ESO.

I dont know,Skyrim feels more surreal,unreal,bizarre looking,alien if you can say.Look at the Elves ,i never seen anything like it in other games,the Elves are so distinguishable in Skyrim,and in ESO they look so plastic,so fake,so human,humans with long ears,so LAZYASSWORK!I prefer the surreal Skyrim!

Plain awful the graphics for eso. So was the gameplay and definitely the content was shorted until 3 major expansions. Too bad they didnt upkeep the game in its first few months.

Mr. Plans They both do some things better than the other but once you factor in the 3 year age gap between the two it's obvious that elder scrolls online is not an improvement, I wouldn't say that it's worse though, they're pretty much on the same level, they should of just kept everything the same as Skyrim but just re textured the human faces because to me the worse thing e.s.o did was change the orc, khajit, and other sub-races around lol they look like ass I'm surprised the video didn't show more on that aspect.

I meant the first release of Skyrim on PC is 2011. The Elder Scrolls Online's first release on PC is 2014. Both game got huge updates over the years this is why I simply put "from".

Skyrim by far looks better. ESO is an abomination it looks horrible like ever other MMORPG which doesn’t say much since ESO art style doesn’t even fit elders scroll art genera.
