In this video we uncrate and show proper dealer set up of a new Scag Vride 2 mower. We made this video because we heard so many people were having problems. These are great mowers, that require a few adjustments out of the box and from time to time routine maintenance to get that awesome performance Scag is known for.

I have looked at a dozen videos like this to adjust my deck. You are the only person mentioning the "total adjustment rod". That was exactly the information I needed to bring the deck up to the proper height. - THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!

Both of my 2021 vride 2 were way out of adjustment from the Factory and dealer. I wish my dealer would adjust mower before selling them like this. Nice work

On my 2018 52" the 12" wide tire fit just like you said. On my 2023 52" there is no way to stop the wider tire from rubbing my hydrailic line. Maybe the lines are thicker. Not sure but had to go back to the 9 1/2 wide...bummer

Couple questions- The total deck height you where measuring from the front tip of the blade? Then you adjust the pitch? I have a 2021 v ride 2, and lately the grass has been long but after a pass i been noticing several it looks very uneven and like some blades not even cut. Is there a way to adjust the roller/ striped in back?

can you email me a list of a typical scag PDI for a liberty Z? who adds engine oil, who deflates the tires (does scag over inflate them for shipping/flat-spots?) , who checks the hydro reservoir (if equipped), do you set the parking brake, adjust the seat, connect battery terminals, do you grease the chassis? any tracking adjustments? anything i'm missing? I had a liberty z 52 show up and the arms only had 1 bolt, is that a scag issue or are they left loose and the dealer is supposed to secure them with both bolts? i've had 3 scags in the last year and they all had these quirks. 2 engines with a smear of oil on the dipstick.

I recently got the new 48” v ride ll the cut quality seems to be good but it does not seem to stripe good and They do not offer a striper, what would you suggest?

If you change the tires and are bigger don't you need to re adjust the deck again?

YES!! Anything that off sets the deck height will cause you to have to readjust the deck height and the level

@@performanceoutdoors2385 Yeah i've been subbed to you and watched your videos, sad you had to close, I'd purchase some air filters, oil, hats, shirts, anything to help out. I wish i could take your business over here in texas, I wanted to be a scag only dealer because i've had tons of issues with 3 new scags in the past year. i figure if the local dealers can't send a scag out the door properly i mind as well do it :) Feel free to watch any of my videos and comment on them if you have time. I've always wondered what a PDI consists of on a new liberty Z. i've had 3 delivered that had issues. do you have a PDI checklist or anything you can email? i think it's fairly easy on a liberty, tire pressure, deck leveling, either check or add oil, etc. rumor has it there's break-in oil in the engine. kawasaki says they ship it without oil, so either scag adds some or the dealer adds some, no telling what my dealer put in there, i can tell you it wasn't enough, i had dry hydros, control arms not attached properly, etc. i've posted several videos. feel free to email me at morejelloplease at gmail.
