Boot capacity is not sacrificed with 467 litres of capacity with unfolded seats. Low fuel consumption is assured with a turbocharged line up of TSI petrol engines including a 1.0 TSI 115bhp and a 1.5 TSI 150bhp; a frugal 1.6 TDI 115bhp diesel is also available with both manual and DSG automatic transmissions. A lower powered 1.0 TSI 95bhp petrol unit will be offered at a later date.

I know prices vary from country to country, but I just ordered an Octavia Smart+extras(close to style actually) with the 1 liter and it cost me @ 16.5k Euros. Not sure why someone would chose Scala over Octavia, let alone @25k. Thank you for the review.

We have a double tax in Ireland called VRT but a lot of people have made the same point as you which is very valid.

Maybe because the Octavia is old and outdatedand the New one is soon to arrive . The scala is brand New.

@@NobbyOnCars This comment is stupid in so many ways and unworthy for a motor journalist. Have you ever considered that there are people who don't want to drive big cars? There are also people who would rather spend their money on their hobby than on an expensive car.

A cylinder deactivation management CDM is not a good move in addition to problems that VAG often have (ignition coils, fuel pumps, carbonized intake valve, DSG, injectors, etc.) Honda has been more than 20 years fighting with notorious oil consumption in their V6 with CDM, GM also has tons of issues with this system. The negative pressure in the cylinder deactivation causes oil to enter the combustion chamber and carbonized piston, piston rings, and consume a lot of engine oil. VAG does it in a short-term profit mindset with attractive MPG figures but not the actual money owner has to pay in the future. It is just another laziness step like their mild hybrid instead of a full hybrid like GTE or Panarema.

I think they have slightly overcooked what is basically a copy of the Audi A3. Less is more. Fiddly creases and lights is just unnecessary detail and tells us they are running out of new ideas.

@@AldoScotia to everything in that class and size!! for money what it cost maybe its better to go with bigger luxury diesel vehicle , 1-3 year old with around 20000-50000km !! basically you can buy BMW x5 3.0d 3 years old for money of new Scala

@@pepear.6817 Except it doesn't really look like an SUV or offer the elevated SUV driving experience, rather it comes across as a mild crossover, Scala's slightly taller and better looking brother, and as such may well steal sales from Scala IMHO.

Mate, you"re 1,50 m :)))) Why you are filming with the camera on the ground? From this perspective,the car looks like a giant but it isn"t...c"mon the price is very big for this class.In the same price you can buy a new Octavia. Very poor engine: is not a family car with 1.0 tsi. Does this engine resist untill 250 000km? 1.6 DIESEL and we are talking about talk about banning the diesel in the future? 1.5 tsi is a good one,the only good one ,but the price is enormous for a cosmeticised FABIA

@@user-ix1ru6wi5s Couldn't care less to be honest, you just don't make any sort of an interesting constructive point about the car. Skoda's won't be for everyone, that's cool but I just don't see the point writing a one liner like you did. It's not like it's going to help inform someone who may be interested in the car. On the subject of camera angles, the art of filming is just that, art. It's my take on it therefore there is no wrong or right way to film a car from an angle. It's also seconds of a shot from one piece of a film that's much, much longer. So in summary, valid, constructive comments, most welcome. Pointless anti brand one liners are not relevant to potential car buyers.

@@user-ix1ru6wi5s But you claimed I don't want negative comments when that's not true. There's plenty of negative comments on other cars throughout my channel. It just helps others viewing comments such as negative ones when people elaborate a bit. For example, the other guy saying the 1.0TSI isn't good enough for a family. Well why not? Is it underpowered? Is it thirsty? Is he just basing his opinion on engine cc etc so you see, I welcome any kind of comments but pub talk and actual informed opinion hold different weight. If I form an opinion from driving many different cars that an engine is actually quite useable and that becomes challenged on my own channel, I'm going to try get a justified reason for claiming the opposite.

1)they dismounted the whole car including the 1.0tsi engine after 100.000km and measured it.. The result of the engine condition absolutlly as the new one m.kzfaq.info/get/bejne/sJxle9x7qrO1aHk.html As well as I heard the brand new engine 1.0 tsi cost around 1500€ if you wish to replace it in the future.
