I just wanna say I appreciate all of you, and everything I know has come from my fellow hobbyists sharing what they've learned over the years.

my mother bought me a model and glue with no paint. I was about 8 or 9 and got frustrated immediately. My father came home from Grumman aerospace and proceeded to demonstrate what patience means. He glue two pieces and held them till they dried. I am now 62 and I still remember that day. Enjoy the time you spend with your kids, it's precious and you may not realize how much your kids are listening and watching so act accordingly.

The panel lines on that BMW made a big difference. Really looks good. Cool idea with the clothespin. Lots and lots of great tips in this video. My dad built custom cars all his life. After he had a stroke, he started customizing model cars, and did some great work. He could chop, channel and section a car, and it would look perfect. And he brought that skill to models. He had a room FULL of models he had built, all in those plastic show cases. My brother got all of his stuff (first come, first serve). I hope he took pictures of it, at least. I used to have a nice '59 Imperial, but mine was a 4-door. Nice car. My dad dated a girl who drove a '70 Dodge Challenger convertible - as a daily driver! All black. It looked brand new.

Those blue gloves are perfect for working with epoxy and polyester resins. They wont stretch or melt in the resins. I think a long parking lot for the model cars, so they dont look abandoned without drivers at a intersection.

Dollar store: Look for a package of wire brushes that look like toothbrushes. Instead of plastic bristles, however, they are brass. They're great for cleaning your files as they get filled up while you're filing. A clean file always gives better bite and with more control. Also, plastic scouring pads come in a variety of grits and cane be very effective in sanding things, especially if you use a small piece held in a hemostat or cross-action tweezers for sanding in small places.

Your tip for suspending brushes in thinners used to be a common practice for painters and decorators here in the UK. It also helps get paint out of the root of the brush ( not that it should be there in the first place). I personally learned of it some 50 years ago when I worked in a paint research laboratory.

Very informative video! I'm 56 and have been building since 1975. I still remember my first kit, it was a gold dune buggy. Then my 2nd kit was a 55 Chevy which I made a total mess out of because it was my first attempt at spray painting. I've built so many kits over the years, I don't even know what happened to many of them. I always have taken detail seriously even though I seem to pick something new up every build, you still gave me a ton of ideas in this video. I hear ya about the 3.0 readers brother, I noticed as I age it's so hard to see these parts . I also noticed that I'm a hell of a lot shakier and much less patient than I was even 10 years ago. Thanks! I subscribed

G'day, some great ideas in here (some items sadly, we cant get in Aus) BUT that last idea, the metal magnet instructions holder. It was worth watching the full 47 minutes JUST for that tip alone. Thank you :)

Thanks for this. I love all your tips and am surprised by your variety of models. In all my years of completing kits, I never really thought of having a vertical sprue holder!

Delightful stuff! I have happened across this channel in the last couple of months and have been doing some catch up on older videos. It looks like have quite a bit of experience and you are good at telling us about your methods or equipment. It took me a long time to appreciate just how good organization can really help with good modeling. Thanks for what you are doing. By the way, working in a model warehouse is kind of like an addict working in a pharmacy :-)
