It's impressive how you managed to give it 'weight' with all the colour nuances. Excellent work.

WOW thats craftsmanship, the models physical appearance is astounding. Damn now I feel an urge to rewatch Das Boot again.

It’s amazing how a little detail like replacing the ladder makes a kit that much better looking. Nicely, done friend!

Outstanding technique on the weathering. I do not own an airbrush, but I believe I could replicate this without one. I too built this kit for practice. I have a Bandai Millenium Falcon build coming up. Lots of weathering! Thank you.
WOW! That's amazing! I'd love to see you do this same model and weathering method with the etched metal parts and upgrades you mentioned in this video...for comparison purposes. Great work!

At the beginning this fella said he builds a lot of aircraft models. I had to chuckle every time he called the hull a fuselage. This was an enjoyable video to watch, as well as seeing what Revell has to offer in the Ship/Sub category.

Dear Mr Scale, The reversed weathering process creates the effect of wear in a very convincing manner. I note the shading on some of the panels also which adds to the depth of the piece. Pretty damned good finish!! Regards, Z

The molds are worn out as the model has been in production for over 40 years that I know of, it was released as the U505 originally. Still a nice kit just an update on the box to give it a different look.

Great build video, where you actually SHOW how you build/paint. I have learned a LOT from these videos. Thank you for also showing the exact paints and mix ratios you used. But, what PSI do you spray at? What model airbrush? What size tip?
@Scaleaton Жыл бұрын
Thank you for your kind comment. Actually I share that details when they are necessary or important at that stage. You can assume always I use 8 PSI and 0.4 H&S Nozzle, when post shading; 0.2 and 5 to 10 PSI

Just a piece of plastic? No, it is not a toy, ladies and gentlemen, mostly gentlemen :D I am absolutely inspired with the way you did weathering effects. Although you steal my idea using wine cap for paint, but... crazy people think the same :D BTW, why don't you take paint directly out of Tamiya panel liner can? Did you spill it off? :)

That would be Tamiya extra thin styrene cement. It’s so thin that it flows into the joint through capillary action.

It's interesting that a hobby about detail is primarily being "enjoyed" by people exclusivly worried about how quickly they can build multiple models at the same time, quality, detail, and accuracy be damned. What we need is 3d modeled one-piece kits so we can start mass production in earnest...
@Deceter Жыл бұрын
Might be time to look at new hobbies mate.
@roberterdei8627 Жыл бұрын
@@Deceter That's what I was thinking too, but how do we break it to him (and all the fan-boys) that he should stop building models and start contracting China to build his out-of-box kits for him..?
@ThinkingUkranian4 ай бұрын
incredible work! I have an idea to make a decoration for an aquarium with a submarine, print it on a 3D printer or use a ready-made model like this... So I have a stupid question about painting, will these paints dissolve in water? And are they toxic? Has anyone had this experience?
