Just did my pre-scalp today. Pre-emergent 2 weeks ago and will apply it again in another week or so before a rainy day.

Cool season here it was a week of warm weather in va and boom Poa already around in mid February. So the two weeks early advice is smart

I did my scalp yesterday. But I also had to dethatch on top of that. I haven't dethatched the yard since it was installed as sod back in 2016. Added PGF and some pre emergent on top of that. I'm excited about the upcoming growing season. Thanks for all your advice, Doc.

DOC! Literally just came inside from doing a prescalp, verticut (I had issues that needed it) putting down some PGF Balance and pre emergent and soil amendment. Thanks for all the help through these years. Hoping to beat my neighbors.

Hi, I enjoy your videos tremendously, thanks for posting then. I layed my sod last year, bermuda hybrid. It came out great. However, I noticed uneven little mounts. Not sure if these are due to ants or something else. Should I roll three grass before scalping to make the grass even?

Pre emergent , In Mass the temp 50 to 55* happens around April 10 a month earlier than your map shows

Haley doc lawnmaster here I dare you to take your lawn to dirt im going to. I already did a pre scalp and I got some liquid 12-4-8 and 16 4 8 and some deep green from the andersons and I'm also going to use your old-school 16-0-8 as a iron affect . I have also got some certified prevegenics I have some double dark with bio nite I also got some 24-0-11. And some 30-0-10 and I'm following the lawn guides even tho I'm using different kind of fertilizers. Great job keep the hard work youngster . Your also going to need a lot of dirt booster for the rack ranch.? You should make a small golf course to tie into your land I know it's a lot of work but you do have a lot of bermuda their. I have a 27” trucut. Wish a had a son to use it. Lol. I have it set as low as it will go and it will only get it to about 1/2-3/4”.

Hey Doc I'm taking some regular 10-10-10 and I'm crushing it to a smaller size to save money to get a better distribution just like the Andersons micro 10-10-10. 🤔 really all beaded granular products need to be smaller but not dusty small to get a better coverage?🤷

We had new Bermuda sod installed last year. It was great last summer but I’m seeing a lot of bare spots this spring. Our back yard doesn’t get a ton of sun and our soil is thick clay. Should I lime the yard. We also have bad grubs and I think that’s causing some of the bare spots as well. Any advice on what I should do?

Hey Doc I just tried buying the green shocker but I guess they don’t ship to California anymore. I used it on my Bermuda grass last year and loved it but now it’s not available for us Californians. Help!! Is there another product similar to green shocker that will work during push period?

great videos and content. I put down preemergent and 10-10-10 near macon, GA about 10 days ago and am seeing a green up. Today i have gone down a rabbit hole of watching burning bermuda videos in the spring before green up (my lawn is slowly starting to green up). I am considering a controlled (safely) burn of my lawn instead of scalping….what are your thoughts on this?

I honestly need someone who can assess my lawn and tell me what to do to bring it back. I don’t have the time to really do much of the care so Ive gone thru 2 services and it has not gotten any better. No weeds though. Wish the doc would come to my house and help me out.

Over winter my yard got infested with weeds and i neglected them for too long and they are like 18inches tall now, should i cut them down then do weed killer, or weed killer then cut after they die?

What’s better, putting pre emergent down late or on a saturated lawn? I got 120lbs of Anderson pre emergent in my garage and really don’t want to waste it. I’m in SC and can’t seem to catch a break from the rain long enough for my Bermuda lawn to dry. About half the lawn is squishy from constant rains. I worry that March 15th will come and go before it dries enough to put down pre emergent. Should that happen, what would be the ‘lesser of the two evils’? Is there a ballpark estimate when you’d consider it too late for pre emergent all together?

Hey Doc...SE GA here, about 15 mins for Tybee with Empire Zoysia. Since my soil test show I have high phosphorus, can I still use the PGF Balance 10-10-10 or should i use something else for the "jump start" program. And when the time comes, would you recommend the regular Anderson's 16-0-8 over the PGF Complete 16-4-8?

Doc, I am in the Transition Zone in Middle Tennessee. Am I too early to scalp then preemergent? I see your map shows crabgrass germination in mid April.

Is a MacLaine a once in a lifetime investment? I really don’t want to spend 5 grand on a lawnmower more than once. My Honda rotary is 15 years old and starts on the 1st pull every single time. So I take care of my stuff. But I can’t justify buying a 5K lawnmower more than once.

Can you tell us what seed you used for the putting green? I went with Bermuda for the lawn last year and it has been great but it absolutely will not grow anywhere near the oak tree. That looks like it is shade tolerant.

Doc, I'm about to put out my first round of preemergent, 10-10-10, and humichar. Do you recommend putting down the 10-10-10 again around the time you do the second round of preemergent? Or should you only use 10-10-10 once and then switch to PGF complete for the rest of the season?

I have 4 acres of bermuda grass. It cost me about 1800 per year in chemicals and fertalizers. Pro Ranger About 5 gallons. I wish i had your lawn it would be very cheap and easy.. my lawn takes 4 hours to mow with 60 in Zero turn
