Short Review of the Brother 2800W Auto Document Feeder Scanner. In this video I show you how to set it up the scanner and hook it up to your home network.

Nice demo on the networking feature. It looks like you might be scanning to a Time Capsule? It appears you don't need to input an afp or smb type prefix in the file path, just 2 backslashes and the Time Capsule name and file path, is that correct? Does the destination folder have to be preceded by a forward slash? I was trying to map a folder on an apple Time Capsule using a Brother 1500W without success before. I think I will have to try this method. Thanks for sharing.

How good is the document feeder? Do you have paper jams? Do you have situations where two sheets of paper are sucked into the scanner at once? If yes, how frequent is it? Does it depend on the paper stack (size and quality (folded sheets from an envelope for exampel) ) you place in the feeder? Thanks in advance. A really nice rev. by the way.

We have had very few issues with double feeds. Sometimes papers that are sticking to will double feed and be an issue. You can replace the feeders. I have not done that yet.

It does, I just stick the Store receipt is and it scans it with no issues.

Does this device have integration with Google Drive (Scan&Upload to Google Drive without requiring a PC/Phone)? Also, does it support long receipts?

Thanks for your question. I looked into it and did not see it. My best solution is to mirror a Google Drive or other cloud solution on to a folder on your computer so that item put in there will be mirrord on Google Drive. Sorry I was not more help.

Alice W yes you can. I would recommend against using th doc feeder if they are different sizes. I scan receipts to a folder on my home network.

Thank you for your I have the ADS-1600W witch is a smaller brother of the ADS 2800W. If i put the complete path of a networkfolder in the "Store Dicectory" field in the Profile then i get the folowing error: ======================================================================== Test Error Sending Error, This message will appear when you cannot access the destination folder. Make sure that. *Directory name is correct. *Directory is write-enabled. ======================================================================== When i ONLY put the name of the subfolder without "\" in this field the test is OK. I have shared the e:\_Docs\HP-Scans\ folder. So i ONLY enter "HP-Scans" in the "Store Directory" So the "Sharename" is NOT the networkpath! I coudn't get the sanner to scan to my printer. That was solved by using the correct "SHARENAME" of the printer and correct username and password of my network. One problem remains: When i scan to a networkfolder i get perfect scans of the original. However when i scan to the printer i only get blanc pages. Do you know why that is? Thanks

Thank you for your message. I have not scan directly to a printer. I have only scanned to the predestined location on my NAS and printed later if needed. Sorry.

It should work flawlessly, the in interface is web based.

Not much of a review, at all. 8 out of 10 minutes is watching how the machine is set-up. 2 minutes of actual watching the machine work. No testing of various paper sizes and weights. No testing of folded papers. Sorry but no cigar. 10 stolen minutes
