Maybe it's because I'm in the eastern Midwest and they have to be nice since there's less scarcity than a busy destination like NY but... every air bnb I stayed at has been *really* nice, really cozy, the people put a lot of thought into it having amenities and being somewhere you wanted to be. I'll consider myself lucky 🙏

Korean Airbnbs...🥴someone talked about the toilet paper situation. I just flush and hope for the best. FYI, the best doesn't always happen. Also a really nice room with a window about 5cm away from a very high building wall 🙃 upgraded to a new room with just randomly ripped wallpaper. I've had another room where the wallpaper was like an arts and crafts paper mache situation. And the owner wrote a book worth of multiple notes and stuck them all over the apartment telling you what to do/ how to troubleshoot. It's the worst feeling to drag luggage to a place of rest and find hell. Airbnb helped me get a refund because I took pictures. Edit: Just ran off from another this morning. I think the formula is to stay away from old folk or ones who have maybe made babies. Stay with the millennial hipsters who appreciate the good life, but are chill.

Never stayed in a scary air bnb but have stayed in some shady crummy hotels. A hotel I stayed in had a sheriffs substation as a room that I stayed next to and we knew it was gonna be an interesting time, that hotel was then on the news 3 weeks later for cooking meth. gotta love orlando. and when I walked to the 7-11 dudes kept asking me if I party aka wanted to buy cocaine. didnt matter day or night

Korea they dont flush the toilet paper as well. was there for a month with the usmc in 2010 training with the ROK marines and inside the barracks there we could not flush tp, but at the out house there it was fair game to toss that paper in cause it wasnt hooked up to the main sewer line.
