Scaring the Mother-in-Law with Christmas Wheeling!

My mom makes it way too easy to scare her, so of course Kevin and I couldn't pass up the opportunity to make our Christmas wheeling trip as entertaining as possible! Definitely the best mom anyone could ask for!!
We hit up Chinaman Gulch and had an absolute blast!

I am a 68 year old retired Air Force veteran. For the last few months I have looking for a vehicle to tow behind my RV. I had settled on a Jeep Wrangler. As part of my research I have been viewing a lot of KZfaq videos. That’s when I came across your channel. While I will not be doing the kinds of things you two do, you have shown me that retirement means a lot more than watching tv and eating potato chips, so thanks for the inspiration. Just a note about the sway bar recommendation: As a fellow Rubicon owner, the electronic sway bar disconnect sounds like a great idea. But I know from experience that too extreme of flex can cause one side of the sway bar to invert. When that happens, the sway bar will wrap around your drag link and bend when the axle comes back up. So if you have physical disconnects and do serious flexing, just unhook them and save yourself the headache of replacing links. Been there, done that, lesson learned. 🥺

I tell my passengers when they are freaking out to close their eyes because that's what I do. If you go 40's, the tires will be the cheapest part. Expect $10-12k for axles. Another fine video. Taking newbies offroad is always entertaining.....and quite colorful.

I am going to disagree about the bigger tires. 38 is big enough for this situation. Getting bigger would require new axles and more suspension to support it all. 40 inch tires represent a lot of mass and making that much mass move and perform would require far too many changes to make it practical. Stick with 38

Thanks guys: My son and daughter in law wants to take the wife and I for our 50th anniversary to Colorado this coming August, them in there JK Rubicon 4 door and us in our JK Rubicon 2 door. Got some planning to do, don't know the trails, other than the big name one's, but should be a fun trip. We both need new tires by then for sure.. We both watch you videos.

You should put little black caster wheels under the bumper on each side and maybe a few toward the middle. Maybe recess them up so you can barely see them. Also it would look cool to have tubing all along the corners and edges for additional protection.

Your Mom is awesome, what she said made me laugh so hard. Little Jelly is cute. If you disconnected the sway bar you might make that little rock! (lol) If you get bigger tires you need to look at your axles and everything, you probably know that but rolling that much tire down the road will cause you problems. Be Safe.
