Kathmandu airport is known to be one of the difficult places to land as it is situated in a valley surrounded by high mountains ..the mighty Himalayas.
The airport itself is around 4400 feet above sea level and the mountains go as high as 11600 feet within 25 miles of the airport....infact the mountains start becoming an obstacle for flights just 4 miles from the airport.
Nepal is a land of natural wonders and ancient beauty. It gets cold in the winters but the people have a warm heart. Tourism is the life line for many of the hardworking people...if you get a chance do visit this wonderful place. #kathmandu
This is the extended cut including some sightseeing during a typical 24 hour layover in KTM ...which is woefully inadequate to visit a place as beautiful as this... but we try to make the best out of it .
