Schefflera clump bonsai - Repotting and root pruning

I did some major work on my schefflera clump style bonsai. I decided to separate out the pieces and do a root pruning on it to get it more space to grow. It was a major operation for this bonsai! Eventually, they will fuse together again, but in a more organized way. Like all bonsai, its a work in progress. Enjoy!

Thanks Nigel! I ended up separating out these pieces recently. Everyone said I was crazy, (and maybe it was :p), but the individual pieces just made such good material, and I have a couple other clump styles, it was worth it to me. Thanks for the comment!

Always loved Bonsai's, but been about 8 months that I have been into Bonsai's and have done a couple. Took a fig tree that's about 20 years old and did an ok job. People comment on it all the time

What is the mix you used?

I think it would of been better to plant the biggest plant in the middle and then plant the others around it with the trunks all been close to the middle plant so all the trunks will fuse together over time. will be easier to look after in the long run as well if it was one fused clump rather then having to deal with 8 or 9 plants that just flop down at the slightest touch. Still looks alright tho :)

Hey buddy! Nice work man. I'm sure it took well. Have you done this before or was this your first attempt does it tell you what it must have taken a bit of balls with do it huh. I've become a big fan of the schefflera and if procreated it just buy the leaf. It was good that you didn't give a whole lengthy description drilling the holes in the bottom. Yeah it took you six hours because you care for what you doing. Oh yeah I noticed that there were root bulbs starting to develop in The Roots did you try play a thing any of those tuberous roots. Just wondering. Hey man good job

Thank you, I appreciate that. It was my first attempt. I've done 3 or 4 others since then, all with varying degrees of success. I'm about to post a new one that I did last weekend when I'm starting my own clump style from cuttings. Thanks for the comments!

Not very good would have planted bigger one inbetween and the others on the side according to ht and later on they'll fuse and give a look of beautiful forest in clump style
