In Episode 02 of our modern barn series we start building a schematic design level model in Revit. This tutorial also highlights the concept of "wrapping the mass" to take full advantage of your concept model and continue a smooth design process in Revit.
This mini-series was made possible thanks to the support of Autodesk.

Thanks for this another and yet interesting video! Although i am asking myself a question about the roofs as walls. I understand why you use this method, but this also could be achieved by using roofs and using the roof "square edge" parameter (sorry i dont know the english name for it). Then you could attach all your walls and would only have to paint the end edges to match the walls colors if needed. Or am i missing something? Can't wait to see the all series tho :) always enjoying discovering new tricks and technics!

The square edge will not give you the proper miter with the wall… With a lot of trial and error, maybe… But, a lot of work.

Hi Jeff. for rendering I personally use D5 Render and really happy with it (I use it only for interiors). It would be nice if you review it in one of your future videos. Thanks

I have never used D5 but I have heard good things... Remember, though, this is REAL-TIME world creation... not just rendering.

Hello, could you teach me how to configure the scroll button of mouse to move on iPad when use Revit? It is the only thing that I have not been able to do. In your video where on your iPad you use your computer you can rotate the model of revit using the scroll of the mouse. I have looked for a way to do it and I have not been able to do it, when I press the scroll what it does is selecting instead of move, please help me, it's something I haven't been able to solve in a long time and I'm frustrated.

Can you simply import an already created landscape? I'm surprised there's not more "scenes" I can simply import and use for rendering and visualization studies, when a site isn't ID'd.
@TheRevitKid

Not sure what you mean by simply import an already created landscape??
@hu5tle-
@hu5tle- Жыл бұрын
@@TheRevitKid I mean a "canned" landscape. Something that someone else has created that you import and then drop your house onto that landscape for ease of visualizations. Does that clarify?
@TheRevitKid
@TheRevitKid Жыл бұрын
Yes.. and you can 100% do that here. This is a real project with a real site and real landscape so I took the time to make the topography to help with visualization and design. @@hu5tle-

@@TheRevitKid awesome! Surprised there isn't a marketplace for this outside Quixel, etc. Something more finished and out of the box usable.

There are options within SKetchFab lubrary but also in Twinmotion itself you can generate random terrain. @@hu5tle-

Hey, you linked your computer BIMBOX in the description. Which model are you using? Im wondering if their laptops are capable enough for a Revit and rendering daily driver?

I have both the Mech 16 laptop and the Stryker IV desktop... they are more than capable enough for Revit... they are practically designed for it!

@@BensonDubya no… both of mine are maxed out .. 4090s, tons of ram, i9, etc…. It all depends on what programs you plan on using and how big or complex your scenes are. Etc …

I figured. I'll be working with all residential homes. After watching your content I believe Revit and Twinmotion will be a great route! Only complexity Ill have are some steep topography and landscaping. Amazing content btw. Very thorough and informative. @@TheRevitKid

Anything will be an upgrade from using Rhino on mac with very slow rendering, no BIM, lots of repetition between plans, sections and renders. And no room for plugins on mac. I just want to be sure I get something capable and I can always upgrade after 3-4 years. @@TheRevitKid
