An important sub-project of the Schilthornbahn 20XX is the water supply to our Birg and Schilthorn stations. Until now, all water was brought up by cable car from Mürren. Especially in summer, several additional trips per day were therefore necessary. Now the water is pumped from Schiltalp through water pipes to Birg and Schilthorn.
Construction work for this project started in early summer 2022 and will be completed in 2024 with the arrival on the Schilthorn.
