Really enjoyed your reaction ( sorry if it sounds a bit sadistic :)) Hope you'll do more movie reactions in the future! Another interesting movie about same topic: "A boy in the striped pajamas" - it's considered a classic. For comedy: "Birdcage" 1996 For real events thriller: "Argo" (took an Oscar)

- The Pianist (2002) Synopsis: In this adaptation of the autobiography "The Pianist: The Extraordinary True Story of One Man's Survival in Warsaw, 1939-1945," Wladyslaw Szpilman (Adrien Brody), a Polish Jewish radio station pianist, sees Warsaw change gradually as World War II begins. Szpilman is forced into the Warsaw Ghetto, but is later separated from his family during Operation Reinhard. From this time until the concentration camp prisoners are released, Szpilman hides in various locations among the ruins of Warsaw. - The Zookeepers Wife (2017) Synopsis: The time is 1939 and the place is Poland, homeland of Antonina Zabinski and her husband, Dr. Jan Zabinski. The Warsaw Zoo flourishes under Jan's stewardship and Antonina's care. When their country is invaded by the Nazis, Jan and Antonina are forced to report to the Reich's newly appointed chief zoologist, Lutz Heck. The Zabinskis covertly begin working with the Resistance and put into action plans to save the lives of hundreds from what has become the Warsaw Ghetto. - Escape from Sobibor (1987) Synopsis: During the height of World War II, members of a resistance movement within the Sobibor concentration camp attempt a daring uprising and escape. As the underground group, including Alexander Pechersky (Rutger Hauer) and Leon Feldhendler (Alan Arkin), devise a plan, they must contend with Nazi officers, Ukranian guards and the realization that anyone apprehended will likely be killed. Initially plotting for a few people to escape, they eventually decide that all 600 prisoners must break out.

I cried and cried the first time watching this film. You are the first reactor I have seen that cried when they made the people run naked to see if they were healthy enough to stay in the camp. That moment in the movie broke me down, showing how they were not even seen as people. The inhumanity was so overwhelming that I just cried my eyes out for a good 15 minutes before I could watch any more of it. Thank you for your honest reaction. This movie is hard to watch but so very important so we know what happened and we will never let it happen again.

"It's Hebrew, it's from the Talmud. It says: Whoever saves one life, saves the world entire." Fun Fact: To gather costumes for 20,000 extras, the costume designer took out advertisements seeking clothes. As economic conditions were poor in Poland, many people were eager to sell clothing they still owned from the 1930s and 1940s. List Found Fact: The original missing list of Schindler's Jews was found in a suitcase together with his written legacy hidden in the attic of Schindler's flat in Hildesheim in 1999. Oskar Schindler stayed there during the last few months before his death in 1974. Hopeful Ending Fact: The ending of real-life survivors visiting Oskar Schindler's grave was not in the script. Steven Spielberg had the idea in the middle of filming, Locating the survivors and arranging the gathering on short notice was a challenge. In the epilogue, all actors accompany the original Schindlerjuden they portray in the movie in pairs. The Jewish tradition that when one visits a grave, one leaves a small stone on the marker as a sign of respect. This explains the epilogue where the cast and the Schindlerjuden cover Oskar Schindler's grave with stones.

Ella, the very good news is that in front of darkness you react as a star of light & life & love. The most important about getting to know & understand darkness, is that it will help you if ever it's coming your way, and this alone, is a very positive reality. We can win over darkness only if we know it well. :)

What is most depressing about this movie is that after I saw it, a sad realization came to my mind. People are doomed to repeat this horror and it is going to happen sooner than later it seems so. There is so much hate and division all around the globe these days. I remember what my Mother told me once that during her school years she went on a trip with her class to i believe one of the former nazi camps shown in a movie. She went back home sick. And that was a good thing. Smt. like a "living" lesson of history. It wasn't pleasant but it's important to educate each generation about this grim past in hope it never repeats itself. One more thought. We have October and people love to watch spooky movies and such. I can't even fathom how much fear they felt back then trying to survive in a living nightmare. Also you should check and watch Equilibrium at one time if You haven't seen it. It is a sci-fi dystopian movie but there is a message. Very underrated movie imho.

I love how heartfelt your reaction was and I know it wasn't easy for you. It wasn't easy for Spielberg to make this movie either. He was reminded of what may have happened to him being Jewish himself. Sometimes he would call up his friend Robin Williams because he needed to laugh. I saw this when was re-released in theaters a few years ago. Spielberg did an intro and said a few words and the ones I remember the most are, "love is more powerful than hate." :)

Initially plotting for a few people to escape, they eventually decide that all 600 prisoners must break out. - We Were Soldiers (2002) Synopsis: Based upon the best-selling book "We Were Soldiers Once ... and Young" by Lt. Gen. Harold G. Moore (Ret.) and journalist Joseph L. Galloway, this compelling war drama depicts the true story of the first major battle between the United States and North Vietnamese forces. It is a film about uncommon valor and nobility under fire, loyalty among soldiers, and the heroism and sacrifice of men and women both home and abroad. - The Tuskegee Airmen (1995) Synopsis: A semi-fictionalized account of the Tuskegee Airmen, the first all-African-American Air Force squadron during World War II, the film centers on ambitious young pilot Hannibal Lee (Laurence Fishburne). Despite initial reticence by higher ranking white officers, Lee, along with Walter Peoples (Allen Payne), Leroy Cappy (Malcolm-Jamal Warner), and others, are deployed into combat. As the successful missions mount, the Tuskegee Airmen develop a reputation as an able, fearsome group of pilots. - Glory (1989) Synopsis: Following the Battle of Antietam, Col. Robert Gould Shaw (Matthew Broderick) is offered command of the United States' first all-African-American regiment, the 54th Massachusetts Volunteer Infantry. With junior officer Cabot Forbes (Cary Elwes), Shaw puts together a strong and proud unit, including the escaped slave Trip (Denzel Washington) and the wise gravedigger John Rawlins (Morgan Freeman). At first limited to menial manual tasks, the regiment fights to be placed in the heat of battle. - The Last of the Mohicans (1992) Synopsis: The last members of a dying Native American tribe, the Mohicans -- Uncas (Eric Schweig), his father Chingachgook (Russell Means), and his adopted half-white brother Hawkeye (Daniel Day-Lewis) -- live in peace alongside British colonists. But when the daughters (Madeleine Stowe, Jodhi May) of a British colonel are kidnapped by a traitorous scout, Hawkeye and Uncas must rescue them in the crossfire of a gruesome military conflict of which they wanted no part: the French and Indian War. - Dances With Wolves (1990) Synopsis: A Civil War soldier develops a relationship with a band of Lakota Indians. Attracted by the simplicity of their lifestyle, he chooses to leave his former life behind to be with them. Having observed him, they give the name Dances With Wolves. Soon he is a welcomed member of the tribe and falls in love with a white woman who has been raised in the tribe. Tragedy results when Union soldiers arrive with designs on the land. - The Last Samurai (2003) Synopsis: Capt. Nathan Algren (Tom Cruise) is an American military officer hired by the Emperor of Japan to train the country's first army in the art of modern warfare. As the government attempts to eradicate the ancient Samurai warrior class in preparation for more Westernized and trade-friendly policies, Algren finds himself unexpectedly affected by his encounters with the Samurai, which places him at the center of a struggle between two eras and two worlds.

The scene in the shower was probably the most anxiety inducing of this whole movie. In most of the camps the Jews were huddled into giant communal “showers” on arrival but instead of water they would drop canisters of poison gas killing everyone inside. They talk about this earlier in the movie but one character says it’s just a scare tactic. That it was just water was one of the single biggest reliefs ever. Unfortunately as they walk to the train you see a few of the women looking back to a line heading into those same “showers” and showing the chimneys above venting ash from the crematoriums.

And as horrible as this movie was, reality was much worse. Some of the things that really happened are too awful to show on screen. For example, at Auschwitz, the gas chambers were crammed full, and the gas took 15-20 minutes. They can’t show that in any movie, it’s too terrible.

Totally agree! As a fan of reaction videos, I believe 'Ella the Latina Filipina' and 'The Loud Guys' from India are the only reaction hosts from Asia to react to 'Schindler's List'. My guess is that in school they were educated about the horrors of World War II near their home countries and not what happened in Europe. It is my hope that Ella, this brilliant, empathetic movie reactor, gets a lot more fans and subscribers - so we can see how she reacts in the future to other movies about the Holocaust suggested here - such as 'Life is Beautiful', 'The Boy in the Striped Pajamas', 'Sophie's Choice', and 'The Pianist'. It might wreck our girl Ella😭😭, but man, wouldn't we all benefit to witness her reactions to those movies!

did you get a good sleep after that long cry? Pretty sad movie. History sucks and it looks like its about to repeat itself. Watch out for this "woke" crowd they are doing what the nazis did way back then by erasing history (taking down statues, changing street names, changing football teams names, the names of Holidays and rewriting history books. Introducing tolerant intolerance. all in the name of Justice.) There are several movies that make me cry like you did. I wanted to hand you a box of kleenex...lol JO JO Rabit and Graveyard of FIreflies got me real good. I saw someone mention The Boy in the Stripped Pajamas. You need to read more. Don't you ever compare taking down racist statues that were erected in the 60s to intimidate civil rights activists to fucking Nazis. Taking down statues of Hitler is not Nazi stuff. The only people trying to erase history in the US is the right, with their insane opposition to what they call "CRT" but in reality is just accurate history.
