I would love a school pack for the sims! It would be really cool to have tasks to do, and we could attend class like how sims join in yoga classes for spa day. And have gym class, and science, and be able to prank the school and things like that. Also, having tasks like "build a skill for 2 hours" so it's flexible to have our sims learn the things they are interested in. I don't know if they will ever do it, but I would love to see it! I've tried to fake this and just pretend, but I'd love to have it in the game.

I also felt like platforms came out of nowhere. But then I noticed in the livestream they made a point of pointing out we can now use platforms to make stages. It made me wonder if they are currently in the middle of working on a Showtime pack.

It does make a lot of sense with a Japan-inspired pack, the lowered entryway (genkan) is pretty ubiquitous in Japanese homes, and the platform tool is necessary to build them. Also if you google "Japanese home interior" you'll see a good number of homes that would need the platform tool, vs googling "American home interior" and seeing none. I suppose they could've gone lazier, made genkan objects and said to hell with the rest of it, but I'm glad they didn't.

I went to high school in America and my school was kind of a “fancy” school so we had lockers but usually there’s no lockers in my school district . Hey, Fry! I wish I would have gone to a school that looked like this! The outside is stunning, so modern. Schools when I went had one desk with a chair welded to it. There was space under the chair but off the floor to store your books and supplies as well as you could lift the top of your desk. I also had other classes with shared tables. But, my absolute FAVORITE part of this build is the monkey bars over concrete. Hardcore AF. 😍😍

For junior high school we had a mix of staying in or class room and moving for some classes. We had hangers, shoeholders and lockers in the corridors. In high school we were shoes inside, but had lockers in the corridors for our stuff. We changed class room for almost every class, it was a big school with many students so we took turns on the class rooms.

In France, I were in public shcools. When I were in middle school and high school, having lockers in entrances or hallways were quite rare (now it’s common thing) and we had to change classrooms for each subject (Maths, French, History, Philosophy, etc, and we have special classrooms for special subjects like Sciences/Chimistry, Music, Arts and sometimes teachers change classrooms too)

I visited a Japanese high school many years ago, the outside of the build reminds me a little of the style clean and blocky shapes. Japanese schools were long hours, long commute (We took three trains from my host family's apartment). Lots of extra curricula clubs, my host did band. We tried Ikebana (flower aranging), tea ceremonies, calligraphy.

I went to a very good private school in Colombia. It had uniforms, single desks with space to keep your things and lockers. It was weird because day care, elementary, middle and high school are all on the same property. There were separated buildings but when you walked across the school you saw kids of all ages. We stayed in our classroom and the teachers came to us. In 2nd grade they start separating us in 2 smaller groups for classes like French, English and music. One half would stay in the classroom and the other half would go to a building that had "extra" classrooms.When we got to high school (9th grade) they also started to separate us for AP math, AP trigonometry, AP calculus, AP French and AP English. I think it was grate because we didn't have to change anything when going from elementary, to middle, to high school. Same uniform, same classmates, same school (just different building) and even some teachers we already knew. I think traveling to all those amazing countries was an incredible opportunity, but the people I graduated with I've known them since we were 3 years old. I wouldn't change that. ps. unpopular opinion, I liked uniforms. 2 times a week we used sweatpants for PE, it was supper comfy. The other we wore a kind of dress (with white shorts underneath), we could have the skirt at any height we wanted. Since I live in warm climate all year it was super nice to wear something light. I don't know how you wear a skirt in cold climates. Also it was super nice to not have to think what you'll wear tomorrow.
@Simproved
@Simproved 3 жыл бұрын
How you describe your school is basically how my last high school was before I finished school completely. Since it was a private school too we had kids of all ages on campus and there were various buildings, one for even kindergarten, then elementary another classroom building that was shared and a high school building. I liked my uniform in turkey when I was about 8(??? I guess, ...) but the one my final school had was pretty ugly in my opinion and I was happy I didn't need to wear it since they just "added" uniforms. I have to say that I never really had a "bestie" throughout, at the end in highschool I would have considered one my bestie. Looking back she wasn't. But oh well... that's teenage drama for you. haha. Changing schools definitely made me more extrovert and I was always very quick finding friends. But I also can remember that I didn't take much bullshit from others, as I knrew I would be moving soon, so I had a lot of "free cards" when bullying back etc, since I knew I would leave this school in another year or so again. So that gave me a lot of confidence. I still have "problems" forming real deep friendships. I don't trust people in the long run, I think this has to do with me moving a lot in the kid. But I am still open minded and friendly to anyone. So I actually have a lot of friends, but when it comes to making deep connections I am just not good at it.

In the US, each of my schools had different types of chairs. From K-2nd grade, we had separate desks, but they were all pushed together in squares. The chairs weren’t connected. They had room underneath to put supplies and books, the opening was in the front part of the desk. From 3-6th grade I went to a bit of a nicer school, and the desk opened from the top. In upper school, the school I went to wasn’t very nice and therefore they had inconsistencies between classrooms. I assume they just had whatever desks they had leftover. Some classrooms had nice big tables, some had really old big tables. Some had the small tables that weren’t attached to the chair, but some had the ones wi the chair attached to the table. Some even had a mix between table types. Even the chairs were of varying quality. Even the lunchroom had several different types of tables. And a lot of the tables were broken and gross with graffiti and stains n them. XD

@@Simproved Haha yes! Interestingly, my upper school used to be the top school in the city, but that was back when videos were recorded in black and white because that was the introduction video they showed our class! 🤪 Since then it’s gone down and had less funding for nicer desks so they probably just grabbed whatever leftover chairs and tables from the other schools in the district, but that’s just my assumption.

In the USA in the districts I went to elementary didn't have lockers but middle and high school do. The lockers line the hallways. And we had to go to a different classroom for each class. So after each class you'd go to your locker, put your stuff away, grab your stuff (notebook, textbook, etc..) for the next class, and then go to your next class. Nobody carried backpacks around. I've had both single and shared desks, just depends on what the teacher has in their room.

There is a school mod, I've seen some let's plays use it. Im in UK, always wear uniforms, in very early years we stick to one teacher in one classroom with exception to P.E. either done in hall or outdoors. In middle/upper you travel to class, you bring your bag with you everywhere, but leave coats in coat room which is next to the entrance your year enters in. Could always do a 'community centre' school. So sims attend it to learn 'workshop', use gym, go computer room, library, pool, confrence/class rooms, cafeteria Hall that has a stage for 'productions or announcements', sports hall, music room, science room, art & design room and finally home tech I think its called? Where you learn to cook.

I'm in a German public school and we share tables but normally thay are in a U-shape or in group tables (for 4 to 6 ppl). Sometimes they are in rows or seperated too. I don't know it's very different and depends on the subject and the room. Additionally, we have to pay for our lockers and usually for the smaller kids, they are in their classrooms or at least nearby and the olders have them in the hallway. That's also because the olders (I'm in a high school which qualifies for university (Gymnasium)) have at a certain point only courses. And yeah no school uniform and mostly also no restrictions in clothing but that depends on the school.

We had an active class feature in TS3 but many found it boring. This is why the gurus make schools an off screen activity or a "rabbit hole". I personally don't care. BTW someone did create a School MOD for TS4. It makes use of "Get to Work" and it requires a building to use as a school. I don't know who made sorry. Nice build BTW.

In school, both primary and high school (12-18 y/o for me) we had single tables. In Primary school we had one teacher and one classroom and for some speciality lessons the teachers came to us. In high school our teachers had their own rooms and we went there as class. Except for the first and last 2 years, since our school was overcrowded and we had emergency buildings for those years, so very confusing. We did have lockers, but not enough for all the kids. Usually the schools in the Netherlands do have enough. My school moved now and they have enough rooms and lockers for everyone. It was just due to overcrowding and having to rent other buildings.

Japanese Schools also have a "home classroom" and the teachers move from room to room. (I currently live in Japan) As for me, I went to Private School in the United States from Preschool (age 4-5) until 12th grade (age 17-18), we had Uniforms in each of them. My Elementary/Middle School uniforms were interchangeable we had button-up long sleeve shirts and sweaters for cooler weather and then students could choose skirts or pants and dark-colored socks (let's just say I preferred wearing pants haha, never was a skirt person, even as a kid). If the weather was warm we could choose to wear shorts instead of a skirt or pants. Which I thought was great (I was in Elementary/Middle school in the 90s). But my High School was an All-Girls School, and we had a skirt uniform until Junior Year and then we had a dress code for senior year (as long as we were wearing a skirt. I Hated that they would only allow us to wear wool tights with our skirts if it was cold. (I had a reaction to the wool so I couldn't wear them, so that wasn't fun. In Elementary/Middle School we had single desks and started changing classrooms in 4th grade (age 9-10), we didn't really have lockers more like coat hooks and cubbies in the hallways. In my High School, we had those desks that connected to the chairs with book racks underneath. Our lockers were all in the basement near the Cafeteria which was inconvenient if you had to go to the top floor (3rd floor) for a class. Students changed classrooms and teachers stayed in their rooms.

Yeah my uniforms were also veeeery different from school to school. I always went ot a mixed school(oys and girls), so we always had the option to also wear pants/shorts whatever we felt that day or according to the weather. American public schools typically have single desks unless it’s like a science or art classroom then there’s between 2-4 students at one table

The table situation seems to vary a lot in the USA .

No not really. I only lived there for a year when I was veeery young. I also went to an english school so once we moved away I unlearned everything. I can only remember that I had to fist fight a lot of the boys because they were very entitled and mean to me and my mom always defending me😂😂😂

To your question what was the latest school i went to: ( I'm sure I won't get that very well explained in english so I will write it in german as well.) I graduated in germany from a kind of "Highschool". As some may know, the german school system depends on the federal state you live in, so I'm from saxony and Our school system goes: Way 1: kindergarden (2 or 3 Years), primary school (4 years), middle school(5 or 6 years) and than training for a job Way 2: Kindergarden, primary school, highschool (8 or 9 years) with the qualification to go to college/university after that. We have multiple deviations, forexample after finishin middle school in the 10 grade, if you are qualified enough, you can go to high school with 16years old till 18 or 19. But there are so many different high schools, like I was at a school that was especally a high school for people that want to get the qualification for college/university, after they attempt at middle school. So this was my lastest school and after that, I went to a University of Applied Science. In all my Schools I had to go from room to room for a different subjects.

Seems like the educational career of my husband, I was on a Gymnasium the whole time, even hopping form school to school, I was always in these "high level" schools and made my Abitur. Husband though was in one of these "special" gymnasiums, I think it as specialised in business and music (weird combo!)... but yeah,... he later got an Ausbildung and studied at the University where we met. It's weird how many options and paths we have in Germany tbh. Makes me wonder why so many are so desperate to get the Abitur, when there are so many roads leading to a Career in germany. Actually we are blessed. Nothing is "fucked up" when u didn't pass. You still have many ways for a restart.
