I'm a high school counselor and I work closely with admin. I've been asked before if I'd ever pursue admin because I have the "work ethic and care" needed for it and I've always said no. I like my flexible hours in the summer (I work 11 months compared to 12 months of admin) and I am not obligated to remain for every school event. Too much responsibility and way more exposure to the negative aspects of working in a school (angry parents, budgets, responsible for the school, etc).

I went to Wuhan last month, there're so many young people there and the city is so busy both in the old town and across the river. I absolutely loved Wuhan and perhaps more than Changsha. I really like the school promoting diversity. I'm sure the kids in ISA will go far!

Mike as you close in on a million subs ( which makes you sound less like an English teacher and more like an extremely successful dominatrix) I just wanted to say thanks for always being so genuine in your videos and showing us China, the good and the bad, exactly as you see it. This is actually pretty rare in the China KZfaq space. You've got a bunch of expatriate KZfaqrs who may have started out in many cases just wanting to show the real China which isn't often necessarily consistent with way it's often portrayed in The West, but then rapidly ended up going the China modern utopia v backward racist crumbling West route. Then you've got a handful of expatriate KZfaqrs no longer in China and with the freedom to say whatever they like now have perhaps 'overshot' just a tad on the negative side 🙄 You've stayed completely true to yourself and honest about it all rather than choosing to completely politicise everything for clicks and views and ultimately money and for that you deserve huge kudos in my humble opinion. Or less than humble, I'm pretty opinionated😂 Plus you just come across as a very funny likeable guy, albeit one who looks understandbly pretty knackered much of the time😂 Finally I don't know you in 'real life' obviously, or you me, but I feel like I know you at least a bit after all these years and videos and I just wanted to say I'm very sorry about your brother mate. Very rough on you and the whole family of course so my sincere condolences. Take care Andy ( I've no idea how I ended up being Will Smith quite honestly but I can assure you it was long before his missus wasn't the only slapper in their family 🙄😂)

I teach Chinese language in a creative and funny way. Chinese characters still retain their pictographic origins. Knowing what the characters look like originally can help understand the meanings and remember them vividly. I’ve spent about 100,000 hours studying English humor and Western culture, and many years studying Chinese culture and jokes. My native language is Chinese.

However, there is a bilingual school on campus, and while the two schools are different, the atmosphere on the campus is quite international in terms of campus life, extra curricular activities and events.

父母送孩子去中国的国际学校，比在美国的学校好太多了，起码在中国不需要教孩子如何躲避枪击，😅在中国的国际学校，学习中西方的优势来教育孩子。西方的教育和中国的教育结合在一起才是完美的

@@herbertliu4022 That sounds like something you would hear from misinformed people about the United States and living abroad in general. The school has had a few students leave to the USA this year once the borders of China opened. Good kids that we miss. I think parents send their kids to this school and others that are similarly located in China and not abroad because they can still see their beloved children when they do not have school. The school also has a boarding department that most of the students and families use. The children can return home every week and see their families and loved ones. It's not easy for a parent to send their child to another country and often times children are not ready for that kind of independence. These schools are a great solution to this dilemma.

我大儿子在加州大三，小儿子在新泽西小学四年级，我最担心的就是校园毒品再就是校园枪击，祈祷厄运不会降临在我们头上，明明知道这个国家对此无动于衷，再多的民主和自由有何用？或许正是这些噩梦的根源😂，没有什么是不用付代价的。

The International School is currently following the IB framework that starts with PYP and MYP. They will start the IBDP education in August. The teachers use many textbooks recommended by IB for their subjects, but also additional resources that can support their subjects and students' individual needs.

@@anqiwang5272 Accent heard in the video: American (Mike) British (Principals) New Zealand (Teacher) Canadian (Student) British/Polish fusion (Student) Greek (Student) American (Teacher) Japanese (Parents) While the school has the most foreign teachers in any school in Hubei, those teachers are from many different countries. The school also has some amazing Chinese teachers who are proficient in English and have experience teaching abroad. This is all in line with IB education which is all about international global mindedness and students being able to speak more than one language (language is the key to understanding other cultures and prospectives). Although many of the teachers are British (with British accents) the school does not favor any one nationality over another and the accents you hear are those of the students and their families.
