There are quite a few cities in twin cities area with lots of Chinese people and communities, ie, Eden Prairie, Maple grove, Plymouth. A big Asian Mall is in Eden Prairie. Once you find Chinese friends, you will like the area.

Thank you for showing us the rural life in the US. My village is almost like a miniature of where you showed. But my village has only 6000 inhabitants, and almost no Chinese. Such a place is nice for a holiday or a weekend, but it is not easy to live for Chinese from city. I hope you can find a nice place where you are all happy with it.

Teacher Mike, perhaps check out Harrisonburg, Virginia, known as the diversity city in the Shenandoah Valley. The Valley is quite beautiful, still very rural, lots of outdoor things to do. Harrisonburg is a college town, 50K+ overall population, wiki lists Asian population at 4%, just over 2000 and growing, mostly Chinese I believe, a number of Chinese restaurants and good overall food scene. Housing average about $300K, good school system known for ESL, economy strong to the point of having a labor shortage and one of the employers is foreign language ed tech Rosetta Stone. Big cities not far away include DC, Charlottesville, Richmond, and a couple hours from international airport Dulles which serves Washington DC.

突然从上海搬来美国农村，家人还是需要时间适应的，我当年也是从大城市天津突然搬来美国，巨大的落差让我逃回国一次，但我儿子很坚定的喜欢美国的学校，喜欢美国的环境，这是让我下决心留下来的原因，所以提醒你要多注意家人的情绪，多些耐心和中国的家人解释，沟通，毕竟这里是你熟悉的地方

We are also an American-Chinese family who recently relocated back to the US from Sydney Australia. Totally related to you about finding the right place to settle down. We ended up moving to West Lafayette IN which is a medium sized town/city with relatively big Chinese and international communities as well as good school system due to being a college town of Purdue University. House prices are reasonable. Quiet, safe and convenient. Within 1-2 hour drive to big cities like Chicago and Indianapolis. Would you consider visiting here? Would be great to have you and your family be our neighbor lol

Good choice, my grandchildren are growing up in central Michigan since they were born, 20,000 people small college town, they go to the pumpkin farm every Halloween season, just like yours, weather is the same, clear cut four seasons, housing is so cheap and lot of open spaces for hiking ⋯⋯.

不得不说孩子在美国生活会更开心而且比较单纯一点。

I used to think I wanted to be in a big city because of the access and the "city life" and because I had traveled and stayed in big cities when I was growing up for weeks at a time for my dad's business and trade shows and stuff. For my job when i finished college and grad school I got pulled to more rural areas because that was where most of the population I was serving was. I really grew to love the rolling hills and fresh produce stands and farmer's markets and there still being sizeable cities only about 30 minutes in any direction.
