When he fought Dustin it’s not that he didn’t get up the weight right. It was that he was only given a little time. This one he had a full camp. Makes a big difference.

They said it defending Izzy too... Izzy only ever defend his belt Vs number 1 vs Whittaker the second time. Every other title was Vs 2-7 ranked fighters. Alex also beat Yan who Izzy lost to. Moved up and won a belt. Is 3-1 Vs Izzy himself and is a 2 division champion. He literally chased Izzy's dreams and succeeded and they still riding Izzy. I am an Izzy fan but he's not even close to Alex

And Rob was number 1 contender Izzy's entire run and was former champ and he made him wait 5 fights to get a rematch. There is a reason the second fight was alot closer

more than the knockout, i was surprised how poise and premeditated Max was. He knew with guy like Justin, he can't take volume damage and still be standing in 5th. Justin and Dustin do not fight in their walking weight. I love Max's heart but with Justin's power, he was not going to withstand all those hits so i was shocked how he dominated the momentum from the get-go. This is like a leopard winning a fight with a lioness.

You guys are clearly talking out of your asses. He has beaten 5 UFC champions in 2 different weight classes and defended both titles in the process. Jan destroyed Izzy with wrestling and control, he was not able to do so with Pereira. Hill is a brown belt, if you are not able to get in a safe position to get the takedown, then you will be unable to utilize wrestling or BJJ.

He didn't defend the belt at 185, he lost his first title defence to Izzy. Jan had over 7 minutes of control time on Alex in a 15 minute fight. He was able to control Alex and Izzy because they both have garbage grappling. Izzy took Alex down and controlled him.

@@__D-B__one underrated point is that Izzy didn’t prepare for a move to 205 like Alex did, he kept his middleweight frame which I think cost him in the fight. He also underestimated Jan’s ability to check the leg kicks and stop him from sniping him. Jan never got caught out of position in that fight, Izzy could’ve picked it up in the later rounds but he couldn’t get Jan off him.

@JustSomeGuyWithAMustache886 Izzy can't compete with those lads at 205. He doesn't have the grappling. Even if he bulked up a bit he would still be too smalll. Most 205ers walk around at 230+. Izzy came in at his natural weight against Jan and only weighed in at 200lbs. He couldn't even get upto 205.

Yes Volk beat Max 3 times (only 2 in my book) but take those fights out of the equation and Max is 17-1 over the last 10 years heading into the Justin fight with the one loss being Dustin. You can argue Volk is better or Iila might beat him but to imply he was on the decline heading into this match is crazy.

Pereira has been in the UFC doing only kickboxing. It would be good to see him against another type of fighter. Maybe Ankalaev can give us that, because I don't think he is a match for Jones or Aspinall. I'm just saying.
