In year 2000 an overtake like this meant gold. No drs, slippery conditions and 10 points in the championship instead of 6. Once more Michael showed why he was considered one of the best drivers of all time.

I just watched this again for about the thousandth time and just like every time before, it brought a tear to my eyes. I was fortunate enough to attend this race and see my favorite driver of all time win the race. He truly was “The Rain King” on this day and proved why he was the absolute best in the world. Hearing those 3L V10 engines absolutely SCREAM at 17,000rpm down the straight and out of the pits was something I will never, ever forget. I’ve expected racing from LeMans cars, GT1/GT2/GT3, vintage racers, Top Fuel/Funny Car, NASCAR and you name it, but nothing really compares to the sound and fury of those V10s.

Great car control from Schumacher and also a nice bit of legal defensive driving from DC.
