I would add a little grease to the caphead bolt that pre threads the diff case just so when your using a powered driver the plastic doesn't heat up to much, and melt rather than cutting a thread

Great video, new to the hobby with my son with no previous experience so as a Schumacher customer these videos are essential. The set up info really helps. Would be great to see some newbie set up videos as well, so basically a cry for help! 😃

Trishbits that’s the issue, being new to the hobby “you don’t know what you don’t know”. So when I get asked the question what is it you need because my son and I are complete beginners I don’t know what to say, yes I have picked up a lot and help along the way from others but putting it in to something that’s usable is difficult because it becomes mishmash of information. We have just purchased the Laydown upgrading from the KC and KF and it would be great to have guidance on the basics once the car is built, what settings to look at first, why these, what will this adjustment achieve. Have you ever thought of doing workshop and track days where for a fee drivers (and dads)can attend and get instruction on the basics of the car and driving techniques, further more advanced elements can then added at future workshops.

I’d keep the background music and the volume 🧐 Very relaxing and great music on all his vids in my opinion! Sorry I don’t need Metallica blasting in the background or some bullshit talentless (C)Rap noise giving me a headache🤮 Plenty of other RC channels with truly annoying music ! I wouldn’t be opposed to hearing some Radiohead or Nick Drake though while watching wrenching vids 😉

Nice vid Trish, glad to see you build it in mostly the same way I do, but some nice little tips there that I’ll use with my next one. Could you do one of these for the V3 ball diff please? With particular emphasis on the tightening and running in process? I can never seem to get them right 🤦🏼‍♂️

Thank you for this. I do have a question. I built mine as per kit using the -.75 wheel hex for the front wheels. The problem I am having is the when the wheels are turned the captured ball joints rub the inside of the Schumacher rims. Have you encountered this? I just bought the +.75 hex to try and eliminate this. I suppose at the end of the day I am asking did I do something wrong? I have taken it apart several times to see if I had done something, but, I do not see anything. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Congrats for this series of videos. I specially liked your explanation of the 2 vs 4 gears diff. sounds cristal clear. you're saying that's YOUR theory. what are the other theories and do they tend to the same conclusion on track? I recently started using 100K and just absolutely love it on EOS carpet (lots of forward traction AND lots of steering), but I just can't figure out how the f...k it can work. do you have any clue? thanks
