I thank the audience for pausing two seconds before applauding to allow the final notes to sound out.

Apparently, they were not quite sure whether this is the end of the piece or not.

Miraculous. And the line of succession to Beethoven and Chopin is so clear. If only Mozart had lived longer.

The only two pianists I think can described as Mozart's heirs are Alkan and Scriabin, and certainly not the nasty Beethoven

This lovely theme that emerges at 2:40 is among my top 10 of all of Mozart’s themes and this is saying A LOT!

Incredible. I could listen constantly, MINUS the commercial that blasts out just before one of the most beautiful parts of the Fantasia. Commercials......

Head-over-heels in love with Schiff’s musical sensibilities. Best performance of K.475 I’ve ever heard.

Quelle doigté ...La finesse de Sir Schiff au service de Trazom...Les Bossendörfer ont une qualité de son qui convient particulièrement à cette Sonate ...Les Steinway (et Fils ) ne sont pas irrepassables pour les Classiques ... Merc encore , Siri...!

I think you make a good point...while I was thinking how special Mr. Schiff plays in his special manner, the tone of the B adds a different dimension to it, likely via his own preferences, although I think opinions would differ amongst listeners.

One of the great secrets about this piece is that is is listed as being in C minor but there are no C minor chords until the very end. This is what we call tonic delay in the extreme. How great was Mozart?...don't ask.
@classicgameplay103 ай бұрын
There are no c minor chords ?

@@classicgameplay10 I know it is hard to believe but Mozart saved the tonic chord for the very end.

Wonderful ! I go and play this piece, learning from this performance ! Schiff plays it in an intimate way, cause this piece seems very interrogative.
@soozb15 Жыл бұрын
Yes it's lovely, a very refined performance. Having said that, I do prefer the live version by Schiff's contemporary, Zoltan Kocsis, which is so different - 'gutsy' and dramatic, I would say. I'll listen to one or the other, depending on my mood!

Una de las obras complejas de Mozart. Hermosos contrastes de modo inocente y dramático. Debe haber sido de su última época. Me encanta la ejecución de András Schiff. Gracias!!

One little unfortunate slip at bar 135 specifically on the left hand E - flat octave?
@gonzalo4658 Жыл бұрын
The beauty about this particular event is the little mistakes in french suites and stuff. It’s more of playing than a “performance”. The word “perform” has a negative connotation. Schiff gives us the most delightful musical moments here, gives us view into his alone playing. It’s a jampack of musical philosophy, sentiment, divinity, and transcendence. It’s what music is. Defined by schiff. That hall defines music just as well, wouldnt be surprised if it was his pick to the cubic inch

how to properly call the scale in the last bar? it‘s c minor with a instead of a flat.
@BrianPaick7 ай бұрын
This would be a melodic minor scale, as both A and B are natural instead of flatted.

I love this sonata and hear it in my inner ear quite differently than Mr. Schiff. While I have a huge respect towards him and his interpretation, I couldn't help but hear Bach-like sound written all over it.

Un de mes pianistes préférée mais sur cette version main droite des fois ne tombe pas tout à fait en même temps que la gauche ce qui fait une sorte de fla fla un peu comme une accacciature.

Mozart wouldnt like Schiffs performance. He is great for Bach. But for Mozart u have to express emotions as if u were in an opera. The important Fp in the 32th notes of the adagio (many editions wrong), he didnt play.Very poor interpretation.

What a SHAME is the combination of such a composer, pianist, interpretation, setting, piano, flowers, image and the satanic slavery of the plandemic rags, over the audience faces (starting 4:40)... That will remain a stain on history forever.
