A number of directors came and went with this including Chris Columbus, The Hughes Brothers, James Cameron and Michael Bay. After Arnie dropped out, George Clooney was tagged to it, then Leonardo Dicaprio, then Matt Damon.

All these scrapped ideas for planet of the apes films that they had before Tim Burton came on board all sounded like they wouldve been next to epic and incredible, especially both the Gladiator style sequel and the Schwarzenegger one. Oh well, at least we got the Matt Reeves Trilogy out of all of it. So at least theres that.
