Jose was a bully, but one that didn't have your back. Fergie was too... but he knew every players story, invested his time in to getting to know them and fought for them with a fierce passion to bring out the best in them. He could turn if the circumstances were right, but when you played for him you wanted to fight for him and the team. I have very little hope this club will ever be elite again. Maybe in 5 years but no time soon!

@rubenfrankish Ferguson mostly man-managed very well. If he knew one of his players was a bit soft, he would direct his anger for them at another player who was able to cope with being shouted at. So Ferguson knew how to get the best out of almost everyone. Mourinho is just utterly cruel. Didn't matter if they were a good player. If they were soft in any way, they'd be there as a scapegoat and for Mourinho to bully. Mourinho definitely wouldn't adjust to get the best from those softer characters, he would just bully them! It's probably a violation of their human rights and everyone knew it, and Mourinho not only gets away with it, but gets paid over £10m per year to be that rotten person.

@@Maul505 I agree. but this time? This time I am backing the manager to my bitter death. The players ALL need to go... let the kids stay... but everyone else gets tossed. I had hopes that ETH's style of football would flourish with higher level players.... getting more precise technical phases completing consistently..... but I am 100% on board that he is not yet a Premier League manager. His substitutions are.... shambolic? And his inability to crush the players cabal there might mean that United will constantly go through this same cycle over and over and over until we are relegated, and the team folds because the debt will crush us the day we drop. But I still would choke anyone who told me to my face that they were going to fire ETH..... If the Glazers actually took Jassim's bid seriously and accepted the 6 Billion that they asked for in the first place.... he could just get rid of them in one fell swoop of the scythe..... but Sir Jim Glazer cant afford that. The debt remains, and the players are "assets" listed on those debts... No.... I love our club as much as anyone.... but we're wrong this time. ETH is not good enough.... and I recognize I can't care about that.... the players must go.... keep the kids, who can still grow into decent professionals and humans.... and bin the rest

The Herrera situation still breaks my heart. He was our best midfielder for 2 seasons & we just let him go. How we’ve needed that energy, leadership & winning mentality over the last few seasons. @@Branulous I'm not disagreeing at all, he was not a good signing because of his age and injury record at the time, but he came in and gave it an honest go. we mistreated him undeservedly.

The most saddest example is of David de Gea Won the golden glove only to be forced out the club with out a goodbye that really sadden me to my core. he did so much for United won so much for them and that was how he was treated? Disgrace!

I think the solution to this man utd mess is to fire Ten Hag NOW!!! because he has lost the dressing room, rarely uses youth, a rigid coach who uses the same sytem every time despite failure & doesn't like squad rotation, then on temporary basis bring a good vibes coach to pamper these prima donnas they might finish top 6 then in summer bring a no nonsense coach like De Zerbi & carry out a PROPER CLEAR OUT. One good thing with De Zerbi is he can do wonders with youth and average players....united won't require superstar signings he will work with talents like Openda, Jonathan Davids, Ivan Toney, Vlahovic, Brahim Diaz, Sergej Milenkovic, Ousmane Diomande, , Johan bakayoko, zubimendi, Latin America talent, replace Rashford with mitoma, Neco Williams or Leao etc The only players who can raise big revenue are Shaw, Rashford and Bruno SELL THEM!!! The market is flooded with their replacements

And at the same time renewed the contracts of deadwood like Phil Jones. He was ruthless with top players and kept dross around. And you wonder why these players don’t care enough. A club who throws it’s players out like that, doesn’t create players who will REALLY fight for the club. Tells you exactly how this weak mentality was created in the squads of Ed Woodwards era and still follows today.

Neville's face is a picture. To treat a top international player like Schweinsteiger like that is utterly disgraceful. Complete lack of respect. But... United have been treating players like this for a long time. Look at how they stitched up Keane.

Sorry to say Manchester united cannot really manage players, the way Rio Ferdinand, Ander Herrera, Evra, Basti, or even DDG were handled was terrible, in fact till last moment they kept giving hope to DDG that they might give him contract. DDG was at club for a very long time, this is not the way players who have served the club for decade are handled, Even DDG was naive, the moment 6 months were left for the end, he should have discussed with other clubs. I feel sorry for all these heroes of the club, whom club treated badly, Even I would add Rooney to the list.

I'm flabbergasted by that, a red carpet for him wouldn't have been too much for him, he was the linchpin to greatest international team I've ever witnessed in 2014, then to have that treatment, I'm just lost for words that is so insulting.

Manchester united should Hire Graham Souness as their next manager. He was correct about Casemiro, if anything, being too generous as the steady eddie is no longer even steady, and Lisandro Martinez is proving to be too small and too fragile for the premier league.

I don’t know why this is new news to everyone. I knew about it when it happened. Even Mourinho was apologetic when he brought Basti back in the first team. I can’t believe that there are people out there who think Mourinho should be brought back as manager

My respect for Bastian just quadrupled. Mourinho should never have been a Man United coach, so also should Woodward never have been the lead. It all boils down to the Glazers and why I hate so much they are still here and the Ineos also. The Qatari was our best option at moving back as a top club.
