@@user-yb5cn3np5q many symmetrical contraptions can have that kind of issue. Simple example I ran into: Cubicmetre's blast chamber gets its block stream from the top center and splits it such that it arrives in the four corners. The layout he came up with is somewhat swastica-shaped, but luckily that's not hard to remodel into an H-shape. Rails are similarly susceptible to that issue.

Hate to break it to you, but all mango did was call 1.19 scicraft, scicraft 2, its still the same map and server, no reset happened or anything.

I don't know the exact details but I have a pretty good guess for it. It's based on the same reason you may see an enderman that's teleporting actually jump super fast across that distance if you catch it just right. Namely, when something moves really fast, the game tries to calculate how to show the in-between frames of it getting there by picking some midpoints between one location and another. If the distance is short for something moving slowly, it results in smoother animation instead of jerky jumping forward 20 times a second. If you're tick-warping, the animation is trying to find midpoints after the cart has already made it so far around the curve that the midpoint is far off the track. If I'm wrong I'm sure someone will correct me, this is the internet after all. :P

For animating a very fast object, it's easier for the computer to exactly calculate a few specific positions, then estimate the rest of them - so in this case, I guess that the computer only calculated where the minecarts would be on each straight track, and estimated that they moved in a circle to get to those positions

Minecraft interpolates the position between the previous and current tick so that stuff will animate smoothly, otherwise it would always feel like the game is running at 20 fps instead of 60. But when tick warping the change in position is so much larger that it causes this weird smoothing behavior. I'm not really sure why but it seems to be interpolating across more than one tick in this case. You can also see this in normal gameplay, like at 7:20 when the command block is instantly teleporting the pigmen into the kill chamber. You can see them smoothly move from where they were into the kill chamber because of the interpolation. I like it, it's pretty goofy looking, and a kind of classic minecraft thing.

There seems to be powder snow below carpet placed at the bottom of the drop which cancels fall damage

To answer your second question, I think the issue was with the 2 block grass generating water sources ruining the collection system. Unless you're wondering why not make it three blocks tall instead... which lowkey now that I think about it, it seems like that would still work and increase the rates so who knows.

Quiet not sure. The muuuuuch more minecards you need for this producing a much higher lag. At some point, that would kill the rates. But that is theory crafting. Someone had to test it.
