It actually makes a lot of sense. Once you start to feel tired of one, you jump to the other. That's basically the only way I'm ever able to finish big projects. If it's just the one project I will always get burned out and never finish.

There's also a LOT of afking to be done in skyblock- a farm being just a few emeralds an hour gives you plenty of time to step away and do non-minecraft things.

Yup! Apparently, the Minecraft developers wanted to model a free market capitalist society in a video game. It's also a very unrealistic game. Coincidence?
@nestrior7733
@nestrior7733 Жыл бұрын
Minecraft really is a free market capitalist's wet dream. A functionally infinite world with many resources being infinitely renewable. Plus no such pesky things as human rights to worry about unless the player themself decide on such "restrictions." It ALSO! has that aspect of conquering wild frontiers that drove many an expansion with even more aspects that could make you pause. It's probably more incidental than intentional at this point, but yeah.

@@philippw4769 its a reference to trickle down economics being bs; its basically a economic philsophy where you think giving the richest people more money / tax breaks will improve the lives of everyone else (it doesn't)
@kiwi5792
@kiwi5792 Жыл бұрын
@@philippw4769 conservative politics in the era of Reagan and Thatcher introduced the idea of "Trickle Down Economics", in which money was given to the rich (tax cuts, corporate subsidies) and it would magically trickle down to the middle and lower class because rich people supposedly spent more money, helping the economy circulate better. To give you an idea of the scale of this, the decline in the top marginal tax rate for corporations in the US (effectively the tax rate on only the wealthiest of businesses, think Amazon/Google/Microsoft) began at 52%. After Nixon, Reagan, and Trump, it is currently 22%. That's 30% of company revenue that now goes directly into Bezos'/Musk's/shareholders' pockets instead of to government programs that ensure a solid standard of living in "the most developed country in the world" It turns out rich people don't spend that much more money than poor people. Your car costs $30,000 and theirs costs $300,000. Your house is $1mil and theirs is $5mil. It doesn't matter if they spend 10 or 100 times what you do when they make literally 7000 times as much, and that wealth just sits and accumulates. In the US, UK, and arguably Australia, people bought into Reaganism and voted accordingly. We now see the greatest wealth gap since feudalism.

15:30 There is another thing that wasn't really an issue before, but since 1.18 can be now (Since world height can go below 0): Hoper minecart cooldown. People may think it's a feature, but like the quasi-connectivity, it's actually a bug/oversight. The cooldown actually should be the same as with a normal hopper. The minecart would use its location for checking this (afaik) and due to an oversight was this location always set to 0, 0, 0 of the world, which means the Minecart would have this normal transfer rate if it was at those particular coordinates. So, if anyone builds a farm using hopper minecarts, be aware of this quirk and avoid building near 0,0,0 in your world. Otherwise the minecart may not transfer items at the desired speed. Isn't Minecraft fun?

The smart piston was an issue before 1.19 I know that for certain. One of the ways that I fixed it was to use a note block for the block that has the dust on top.
@vltir
@vltir Жыл бұрын
About the redstone dust. There was no change for it’s update order in recent versions. EarthComputer explains the redstone update order in one of his videos. He mentions that in 3% of the blocks in the world the complete redstone update order breaks down. Leading to the issue you had. So this was also the case in older versions. The solution with the QC smart piston you offered is also not 100% reliable, cause when this order breakdown occurs in multiple spots of the wiring, the QC smart piston will fail as well. What I’m suggesting you to use, is the 4gt smart piston by Lollopollqo. It’s dust update less, non directional, pretty small and uses only one piston.

I understand why they're using a hash based system for redstone. Hash systems are really fast (as the number of items increases) but they suffer from ordering issues. Considering how redstone is already laggy, I hope Mojang can find alternative that doesn't sacrifice too much performance. (maybe a chunk based hash system, so it's semi predictable per chunk?)

Sorry I've been away from the game a number of years and theres tonnnns of new mechanics I haven't seen before im trying to wrap my head around.
