I love this concept of creeper farm. It's just something kinda obvious but not really trivial so you have to think a while to come up with it.

I still think vanilla needs some kind of stone crushing tech. Stone > gravel > sand
@fwiffo
@fwiffo Жыл бұрын
Right now, TNT and creepers turn smooth stone into cobblestone. They should also turn cobblestone into gravel and gravel into sand. Current cobble farms that use TNT would no longer work as-is, but they can simply be replaced by smooth stone generators. And that would be a fun challenge because they're more challenging to make stable and fast. You don't lose anything since you can't get smooth stone with TNT regardless, and there aren't other situations where you farm gravel or cobble with TNT.

@@Hi-vd8lr that's a pretty bad argument... by that logic mangroves wouldn't of been added because oh the biomes you will go was out way before .19. Any server that hosts more than 5-10 players who play consistently could benefit from this much gun powder. My SMP has 5 players who play inconsistently and we burn through gun powder produced from our double witch hut and multiple mob grinders. We’re at the point where we need to make a dedicated GP farm and we’re hardly hardcore like the Sci Craft guys

For anyone who is interested in the limits of this farm (building it bigger for more rates): - Each cluster of 13x21 (boats) adds roughly 97,000 Creepers / Gunpowder per/h - This doesnt reach mobcap limitations until you go all the way up to 31-32 clusters of 13-21. - This means the theoretical limit of the farm's rates are a smidge over 3,000,000 Creepers / Gunpowder per/h (which is 13-14 stacks a SECOND!!!!!) Test with building this farm higher up (in the sky for example and the rates drop abysmally), it needs to be in a perimiter cleared down to bedrock.

man I love how many farms can be chained together to achieve more now. like you can get renewable dirt by making a moss farm connected to a mega spruce/podzol "farm" connected to a blast chamber, and you can just connect so many farms up with the moss farm bonemeal output to just constantly feed it... so cool I guess I would've used the word "sunken" for the boats under water, or at least just... The creeper farm is accually pretty easy to modify for older versions. You just need to replace the mangrove roots with other waterloggable blocks(e.g. slabs) and then later, after putting in the sea pickels and the boats, either remove the water(the sea pickels won't break) or put signs around the slabs(signs don't prevent mob spawning) to stop the water from flowing. Edit: Also instead of the sea pickles you can also just use a regular bottom-half slab cause it has almost the same hight

I knew that small creeper farm wouldn't last long.

I love the idea of less compact redstone builds but are more "user friendly". I think it fits a good portion of mc players that understand a bit of redstone or just like using builds they see online but dont actually have to fully understand it w/o consequences

What this farm needs is some boat looting tech. If you go boat, go all the way!

I already built first one and since its reliable i wont be building it. Probably first one is better aswell since as far as i can tell you get the output faster in case of different farms connected to it and is smaller. But i fucked it up in old design aswell like 3 times so my advice is just create a backup before running the first time.

That's a great concept of the creeper farm. I wonder, could it work without the trapdoors to make it a skeleton and zombie farm too?

@@XiscuXustes Did you try it on a desert? They shouldn't be that much of a problem since they are a lot less frequent and will eventually despawn.

@@MinebraineGM I'll try it, but baby zombies spawn faster than i thought, in 20 seconds the mobcap is full of baby zombies
