@@carllinden533 ha! never happened. we got a snowstorm that generated seven foot deep drifts and my tractor died in the middle of the driveway. I spent all of december trying to get it running again.

My grandparents had several that where hand built like the ones shown here. granted I was born before everyone's greed of reselling. They had 2 that they had since children, and 5 that they bought for grandkids. Found the receipts they only paid I think 300 each in the 90s from local builder.

I think if a scooter 🛵 or motorcycle company built something similar. Using an aerodynamic weather enclosure with removable hard top & added a 250cc engine. So it could cruise along at 65mph & get 70+,mpgs and sell em new for like $6,000....That they could sell a ton.... It'd be cheap, practical, reliable, fun to drive, low maintenance, could be used year round & safer than a motorcycle. Either gas engine or 120V AC standard 🔌 plug-in electric. I wish I wasn't sick and build one myself. Then when people ask me about it. I'd tell them everything it can do & tell them I'd sell it for $6,000 & see how many people want to buy one.

They're stupid for not adding a removable hardtop & windshield & a few other mods. So it could actually be used as a daily driver = more practical = more incentive to buy one. To save money on gas and cost of a new car. If a 🛵 scooter,motorcycle or car company built something similar. They could sell a ton= reliable, low cost, fun to drive, practical commuter, 70+ mpgs.

well, that's not so hard to accomplish, actually I've probably never worn gloves for woodworking. I don't recall ever having a splinter either.

Morgan have been making "modern" versions of their 3 wheelers for several years, at least up until recently. Not cheap though.

Then why don't you? I'm sure lots of people would like to see the end result.

There is though Morgan discontinued the version we saw built because S&S discontinued building the engines... I think they just release a new one but its powered by a watercooled engine now

Children's pedal cars aren't generally classed as velomobiles, although, depending on the drive train, they may have a lot in common. Recumbent 'Delta' tricycles and velomobiles usually have front wheels positioned further back.

Morgans aren't that low, certainly no lower than many sports cars like a typical Ferrari or a Lotus. But then potholes are low down, road markings and tree branches lying in the road are low down... yet drivers see them. As a former owner of a Caterham 7, which is very small and low down, I never had any problems being seen. As a recumbent tricycle rider, being much lower than any of these, I have far fewer problems with cars than when I ride on "normal" bikes. Quite the opposite.Drivers NOTICE it. Electrically assisted recumbent tricycles exist. Depending on the drive train (and the local laws) it might be possible to alter one of these pedal cars.
