I started imagining such vehicles as I looked at the Divvy and Lyft bikes in Chicago and wondered what enclosed bikes would look like and here they are. What ingenious innovations and earth friendly.

One thing that bugs me is how to secure it when you go in to a store. Someone could lift up your expensive new vehicle and throw it in the back of their truck and take off.

Superb when you can pedal at all without problems. At the moment we can go into nature with a car ride, despite our inability to pedal. I guess the future is that people like us have to stay in their assigned 15 min city spaces and get on with dying because we are a nuisance. Logan's run. where did you get the idea/misinfornation that people are being restricted into ‘their fifteen minute space’? “Some people online have claimed that, in 15-minute cities, leaving home or driving in general will only be possible with express permission from local authorities. But there is no evidence to support this.“

I’d like the idea of these bikes, but from a law-enforcement point of view I can see them getting stolen. You go shopping and come back and find it gone. Is it worth investing money on something that is so vulnerable to theft? It’s one thing to get a regular bike stolen but this costs way more than a regular bike.

There are plenty of ways you can lock these so they are harder to steal than a motorcycle, but the bigger problem is going to be that thieves are going to target these just because they THINK it's going to be easier, and even when they realize it's going to be more difficult than they thought, for less reward than just stealing a motorcycle, their stubbornness will cause them to still hyperfixate on stealing it because they've already started, so they'll get their power tools, cut through the U-locks, and steal it.

I was getting ready to order the pebble until I found out that it costs a whopping $10,000 MINIMUM!!! That is an absolute rip, you can buy a full car with an actual motor for that cost

Take the concept charge a battery backup system via peddling add wings and some sort of descending fly wheel air resistance alternator thingy so as you decend it charges

Thank you for sharing interesting designs and ideas. All of them have one issue. Too many wheels. As an 8 years EUC rider with more than 60.000 km in my wheels, I can tell one wheel is enough

No need to be pretentious with your attempt at humble brag. I'm glad you're enjoying your unicycle, but these are designed for being able to haul cargo/groceries, as a replacement for a car, not only as a recreational device. You can't haul cargo on a unicycle.

I like the Pebble and the Raht Racer most. Pebble reminds me of Italian vehicles and looks cute. Raht Racer looks badass with those tires and shiny rims. I've built my own velomobile with my cousin and hope to some day have it featured in a video like this one :)

Lots of laws and street design only came after cars came about. Something was done to better fit car use into cities. It's possible to do the same for bicycles.

All nice idea but I see 2 issues here: 1. They are too low from the ground hence the visibility in a road (with cars around) is highly compromised. 2. They are not fully enclosed and waterproof so they are only for nice weather conditions...

you can probably get a 40mph 1500w 48v front wheel kit and a 48v 20ah 40mile battery for under $500. you can get a solar charger for it under $1k. people are making this more complicated than it actually is

Several inaccurate details and assumptions about a few of the entries here, which have been repacked and regurgitated since at least 2019. - The Velove Armadillo with the "soft shell" body never made it past the prototype stage in 2019. The white one in the video, and several blue ones that were tested in Sweden are all that remain. There are no plans to produce this 'velomobile', or 'cabin cycle', version. Velove has gone completely commercial in using the Armadillo as cargo transport, not personal transport. - The Cabriovelo project died sadly died off in 2016-2017 after failure to get funded. - The Velo X was built only for breaking speed records, (which it did) but was never intended to be commercially produced as personal transport. Plus it takes like 15-20 minutes to get inside it, and takes a team of 2-3 people to help you push start and stop it. Oh, and there are no windows or places to carry things, like groceries. :P

All of them! I'm working my way back from a stroke . this wouldn't much better than a power chair that I have at the moment! I could take one out in the yard and watch nature, I miss that so much. Btw they suck in bad weather rain, snow,cold. How much do the things cost? I'd love to test drive one or all of them. Any takers?

La règlementation interdit dans plusieurs pays d'utiliser des véhicules à assistance au-delà de 25 km/h sur les pistes cyclables. Sans évolution de la réglementation c'est très difficile.
