Japan had a thousand plus years of contact with other countries before they decided to become isolated. .

Wakanda politics bothered me greatly when I watched the film. An isolationist city-state that repeatedly says they do not trade with the outside world at all. Yes they have Vibranium, but it is so plentiful within the region they made farming tools out of the stuff. But no trading with the stuff is ever done. No intelectual trade either. The ruling form is a tribalistic fascism where rulers are chosen with trial by combat alone, and once in power they demand absolute loyalty from their underlings no matter how crazy their ideas. The idea that this culture could evolve into a futuristic utopia when they are constantly just a fistfight away from descending into civil war. That they still cannot look past skin color when deciding who to help. That this is a culture to be admired and looked up to qccording to the MCU. It bothers me greatly...

yeah... remember the part where T'challa yells at his forefathers that they were wrong? they got complacent and did not have to change, so they did not. but shuri said "just because something works does not mean it can not be improved" T'challa has decided to change. but when has anyone in power ever changed national policy to a point that they would no longer be in power? it makes Wakanda flawed, which is good because so are we, we work but we can still be improved.

Doesn't bother me one bit. They're sustaining themselves, and the King only has a responsibility for HIS/HER nation, not the rest of the world. It's pretty much the same as Donald Trump saying "America first" today. Besides, since other events such as Colonization & Slavery already has taken place, as well as the widespread racism against African people in the world, what incentive would they have to help anyone else? The only thing they did wrong was not helping their African brothers and sisters on the continent and in the diaspora, which is EXACTLY what Killmonger wanted to do.

Most advanced society on Earth: Still uses spears, ascension by combat, ritual scarrification, and an absolute monarchy. Makes sense.

It's interesting to see where you will give them a pass and where you will compare a movie to our current scientific knowledge. It sorts reminds me of how in The Simpsons, an outrageous situation may be met by normal human astonishment/outrage/etc such as you would expect from somebody in our culture, or may be treated as if it's normal in their universe or even built upon with a yet more abnormal reaction. I think you are trying to find interesting parallels. So when a vibranium suit is hit with something, the fantasy science almost completely absorbs the kinetic energy and allows the wearer to reuse that energy - and this is compared to piezoelectricity and electromagnatism. But we ignore the momentum, which can't be so easily transformed (big problem in a lot of science fiction, of course). So maybe you can use the "magic" (a generous interpretation of Clarke's phrase) to teach some science, and that's more your purpose than analysis per se. Good goal, so I won't complain. And you are having fun, which is good. But intellectually the unevenness is just a bit unsatisfying...

El Dorado had nothing to do with Africa. Wakanda has no similarity to do with Feudal Japan since the rest of the world knew that Japan was there. This is a strange channel, looking for science, in a superhero fantasy. You might as well look for common sense in a political manifesto.
