We have many examples of sites that use sound manipulation in rituals. Very often they involved a "shaman" or "priest" that addressed a crowd thru tunnels of stone, producing an ethereal "voice of a deity". One in Greece even used the roof of a building, to produce a "thunder of the Gods" effect. My calculations show a spot, hidden from the central areas in the second inner ring, where a man could project his reverberated voice to the central area, without being seen. The effect included the "sonic cancellation" of sound from other directions, making the speaker dominant while suppressing any other voice. Please run your own tests and see if you find this spot, and these effects.

Since those people were living in the ice age, I suggest that they might have slid the stones on the ice, and used snow pack to place them.
