Little Bighorn Battlefield Tour - In this video Custer and all the troops with him have been killed, Reno with Benteen have set up a defensive position on the ridges a few miles from Last Stand Hill. We will follow the events at the Reno Benteen Battlefield area on the evening of June 25th and up to the end of the battle on June 26, 1876. We will also take a full tour of the entire battlefield using the National Park Service map.
June 25-26, 1876 - The Battle of the Little Bighorn / Battle of the Greasy Grass, and commonly referred to as Custer's Last Stand, was a battle between combined forces of the Lakota Sioux, Northern Cheyenne, and Arapaho tribes and Custer's 7th Cavalry Regiment of the United States Army.

They could also hear the screams of the tortured captured soldiers that night. They were tortured and burnt alive in the Scalp Dance. A couple of these victims were from Reno's charge and a couple were from Custer's charge at ford B. there decapitated and scalped heads were later put on pikes. 4 heads were found in the village. yay for history.

Uh, in my 75 years, most of the photos of the area that I've seen show the majority to be bone dry... Having lived in sagebrush desert country growing up, I'm aware that is normal for much of the year. The film presented here shows a stunning riot of green. Two questions: What month(s) and day(s) were these images filmed...and what would the majority of the ground looked like on the June 25th in question? . Good summary and amazing film. Bravo... YP

Thanks for watching and making a comment. I was filming the area on June 25-27 2023 so this is what it would of looked like more than likely during the battle. I hope you have had a chance to watch the other videos in the series.

Just over two and a half years after Custer's defeat, the British army lost some 800 men in an even bigger no one survived massacre. Any plans for Isandlwana?
