Vespas are an incredible machine. Direct shaft driven and powerful too. I once owned a 1966 model vespa made in India 🇮🇳 by Bajaj Scooters. A very reliable and sturdy two-wheeler.

@@OllieLK yes, the Indian manufacturer had the licence from Vespa, Italy and initially it was sold under the brand name of Vespa.

@@donjohn2239 sorry, you've got it wrong. In the early 60s these vespas sold in India were imported from Italy as CKD kit and assembeled here. Later an Indian manufacturer Bajaj got licence to make the same in India and was sold as brand Bajaj scooters. So no FAKE. :)

Still I had my father's scooter ( bajaj super indian version of vespa). Olive green colour is colour of scooter. Last week I started it and it starts in two kicks after 6 months. My father purchased scooter 150 CC in march 1992.

When I was a kid I used to walk my honda trail 70 down the ramp at the harbor at extream low tide and it would power back up. The 70 would make that incline.

I reckon my MK1 Vespa T5 would have had a good go at that, can wheelie in first three gears its got so much pull, thrashes out about 80 but seeing as the speed limit in the UK is 70 I am happy with that :D
