At the start of the season I didn’t think we (the scorchers) were a chance, we were solid with our bowling like always but missing Marsh, having Laurie Evans and Phill Salt being unavailable for the season due to injuries and suspensions which left our batting pretty fragile. We needed Hardie to step up, Turner to step up and Inglis to step up big time if we were to be any shot. I’m glad I was proven wrong as we just have every batter stepping up for us and getting a few 50s this season to help us along.

That's the beauty of this format. Even in the IPL, noone gave LSG and GT even a semblance of chance to reach the playoffs. Shorter the format, the more evenly matched become the teams.

Great game. Scorchers show their depth and team play yet again. These 2 teams dominate this competition for good reason. Play as a team and have the culture that flows through. Not just trying to get mercenaries in...much more entertaining than IPL. Only major sport in Australia where the top of the table actually gets the home final too. As it should be.

Perth always gets crowds above 25,000. This year they've got a couple around 35k and this match was 42k. Soccer should look at this and wonder why they can't get big crowds like the cricket. I think a major reason lies in the number of women and kids at the games. Its a sport for everyone. Whereas soccer has a far larger proportion of men.

There is always something happening, it is very exciting for kids, who would easily get bored at a soccer match. It is family friendly. This form might just be the most exciting sport for young kids to watch.
