I used to carry the Score 1 in my shop years ago. There should be a hole in the cutting head by the wheel. You put a pipe cleaner through it and put oil on the pipe cleaner. That's how you keep the wheel oiled.

I just got my score one cutter today! I suffer from arthritis really bad and this little tiny cutter is a game changer! Thank you for doing your review on this and sharing it with all of us out here! I am only going to have to grind one tiny spot out of all my glass I cut today! Again thank you!

Hey Betty! I'm so glad it is helping you and relieving some of that arthritis discomfort/pain. You are grinding ALL of your glass edges before wrapping in foil right??

I got one of these in a lot of glass I bought and I’m so happy to see you try it out. I’m watching you struggle with guiding the glass left handed and wondering if you can just turn the thingymajig the other way so you turn the knob with your left and guide it with your right? Ok time to finish watching. 👀 you’re amazing.

I got one as a gift at Christmas and it is very useful for some of the deep cuts. Or if I have to adjust a piece that I cut slightly too big. Thanks for doing the review, I really enjoy your enthusiasm

Hey Makenzie it's been a while since i contacted you about the score one machine. Just wanted to let you know that this machine has really changed my stained glass activities. I;ve actually started giving classes using this machine rather than a pencil cutter. I love your videos.

WOW I have had this little thing for 10 years or more and vaguely remember trying it. But I do not think I really knew how as I tried it and then never really used it. Now I am going to get it out and try it again. Thanks for sharing this.

Hey Makenzie, Thanks for trying this score 1 cutter. I had seen a couple of ads on it and I thous=ght that it would be a flop to use. I am going to order one today. I had a partial vision loss due to a double stroke last fall and have been struggling to see to make good cuts. This will help me with that issue😀

Thank you for this demo, it looks sturdy enough to not have balance issues if not bolted down? My tools are 30 years old, I am retired now and want to convert my garden shed to a studio for acrylic paint and stained and fused glass shop. I really appreciate your videos!

I can see where it would be a godsend for folks with hand issues. It also seems limited as to the size of the glass it can handle. But for most common projects it should work great. Seems a bit pricey though. But these days...eeesh! be well! looking forward to your next projects. thanks, as always!

Mine came with a little pipe cleaner in the holes by the cutter. I was told you can soak it in cutting oil to keep the wheel lubricated

I bought one years ago and when it arrived it had a split in the drive wheel which was also stained and discoloured, clearly it was not new. As I’m in Australia the freight to send it back and to have a new one sent to me meant I just didn’t bother. It worked pretty well and I secured it to a waffle grid. Years later I bought another one and I love it, but freight costs bumped overall cost to over $150. Still love it thought.

Bestie...you've got to stop shoppin' I can't keep up!! LOL! Dang it and I love Inland... Why haven't we seen this thing yet?!! I was right with you..I thought it looked gimmicky. Like NO WAY this baby thing could pull glass. I am shocked. * Adds to wish list * Love the vid as always!!! When will we be working out of the book...thinking about ordering it. Would be my first book.

Right?! I had never even heard a WHISPER of this thing before i was told about it a few months ago in a comment!! & Oh gurl. You DO NOT need this thing. Just like any of these random gadgets I review on my channel. It's literally pure curiosity, and sometimes they turn out cool. I would NOT shop like I do, if it wasn't for this channel. If you have the cutters mate, you don't need this. If you don't have wrist/arthritis/carpel tunnel you don't need it. I hate the thought of giving like, fomo, because I review stuff. Thats all it is. Just stuff. 🖤 you know me, I always say a 10 dollar pencil grip is all me, all day. 🖤

cool. I wonder if they could make something like a sewing machine for stained glass based on this design. have a motor or foot pedal to advance the glass. and give you both hands to control the glass

Right?! I'd never heard of or seen this thing anywhere and I don't get why!!! It was awesome!! And that's hard to say. I have so many tools/machines/gadgets from reviewing, none would ever end up truly full time. If I was someone who did this art as a hobby, I would probably pick one of these types of tools and use it full time.

If you want to guide the glass with your right hand all you have to do is turn the machine around using your left hand on the wheel it is left or right handed just turn the machine to your preference 😉 lol

Have you tried to attach it to the workbench and then push the glass through, not using the wheel to move the glass? Just curious if you would have finer control being able to use both hands to hold the glass. Or have you tried flipping it around so you can guide with your right hand?

There is a way to attach it to your waffle cutting surface or Morton board by adjusting the little round rubber feet underneath it. It holds really well.

Hi ! Thank you for all your awesome videos . An unrelated question to this video , how do you prevent your silver foil from deteriorating white the humidity of the environment? My pieces don’t look shiny anymore Thank you 🙏

Silver solder? - If your silver solder looks matte, you can use a stained glass polish! I prefer the matte look and almost 99 percent of my work is patinad to black. -So I'm not extremely well versed in trying to make it look shiny intentionally!! 🖤 But polish should do the trick!

What is the difference between the RED knob on top of the cutter, and the white knob above the lever?

Ive got a question about lead safety -- do you use a lead removing soap after soldering if you're not using gloves? I know you (rhetorical you) can cross contaminate items if you've been touching lead with bare hands and then directly touch other things (especially if they're things youre going to touch to your face/mouth or eat). It makes me super nervous.

I do not use gloves for just using a lead mixed solder. We are not wearing it for prolonged periods of time, or ingesting it, crushing it and inhaling it, or heating it to evap. Of coarse just common sense don't eat and put your hands in your mouth while handling any chemicals or heavy metals, ever. But my biggest concern is always always always flux fumes! 🖤 If your nervous about doing it, you can always use lead free. Beyond that there is TONS of stuff online, safety guides, studies etc that you can read up on.

The creators cutters mate and this thing are two totally different products. This is just a very small basic glass cutter.

I am just starting doing stain glass again. I looking to buy a grinder, I am on very limited budget. Do you have any suggestions of a strong reliable grinder under $150. new or used?

I think its a good product for me because I have hand problems so this would be good for me the problem is the price is to high and I would probably only use it 3 times the price is bad

This may be a confidence builder for the beginner, but not sure it's value for those confident with the old school cutters.. Nice vid though, and keep 'em coming..

They are great for people with disabilities from strokes or MS or can't use pressure. The machine keeps a perfect 90 degree on glass and steady pressure throughout the Score. Even if you stop for a moment. Those are most of the people that purchased them in my shop. And no real set up required.

I wasn’t impressed at first either. Since it is plastic I thought it was just a toy. But I use it constantly as I’ve had very few cuts fail. It performs as advertised.

I believe turning the knob with one hand and maneuvering the glass back and forth on curved cuts with the other are the types of repetitive motions that cause carpal tunnel. In fact, it's worse because you're doing it to both hands/wrists at once. Using a pistol grip cutter with your wrist at the same angle is bad enough, but I think this is worse. Sorry, just sayin.

@@MakenzieHallie it is different though, long fingers you just use normally, but with long nails you use your hands and fingers differently very often to grab or hold things. You often can’t really use your fingertips which you could with long fingers.
