I have an Exo-1000 and never really found the 'airfit' system, or the dropdown sun visor, much use. I really find the 'city' position for the visor, and Pinlock, really helpful though.

I just got this helmet in the hyper silver on sale for $99. And now that I own it I probably would pay the full price on it. It really is the best helmet in its price range ($200). My next is a Shoei GT Air but I'm waiting for the updated version which should be coming out anytime now.

Bummer about losing the airfit system. I guess that isn't too bad though; you can still change out the cheekpads. I think this is a steal at $200 for 3 shell shapes, SNELL certification, fiberglass construction, and emergency release cheekpads. This helmet IS SNELL M2015 though right? I'm thinking of buying this helmet but I'm more of a rounder shape as opposed to intermediate-oval. Should I still spring for it?

I recently had a wreak and am looking to replace my Bell Vortex. I really like some of the options on this and graphics on this scorpion and have good things, but I am wondering if the fit shape is at all similar? If not, do I have any Snell rated options in a similar price range with that head shape?

+Gretschdrums01 Have no fear! The Scorpion and Bell Vortex have pretty similar oval shapes, so you should be able to wear this Scorpion comfortably. Also, I personally think this EXO-R710 is the best Snell-rated helmet at its price point. -DrewZilla

Is the R2000 (Circuit, on closeout) worth the extra $88 over this R710? I'm going to be riding a CB300F or the FZ-03 naked version of the R3 by this time next year. My head above my eyebrows is a hair under 23.5" so I think a Large would be fine. Also I have a very narrow, very oval head shape. Which would be more comfortable?

+GT6SuzukaTimeTrials Yes, if your size is in stock, the EXO-R2000 is well worth the extra price over the EXO-R710. The EXO-R710 with its fiberglass shell is a step up from its polycarbonate-shelled counterparts, but the EXO-R2000 has a TCT shell, made with a blend of fiberglass, Aramid, and organic poly-resin fibers. So you get a stronger, lighter, and more compact shell. Even at full price, the EXO-R2000 is an awesome value. -DrewZilla

How does this fit in comparison to the exo500, I'm currently wearing a medium exo500. I'm trying to figure out if the r710 or the r2000 would be a comparable fit to the exo 500. I also might have to size down as the medium is on the looser side.

itubrrr The EXO-500 is intermediate- to round-oval, whereas the EXO-R710 and EXO-R2000 are true intermediate oval. Either would be a good option, though for sizing, I recommend taking your head circumference measurement around the crown of the head. Small fits 55-56cm, whereas medium is 57-58cm. If between sizes, start with the smaller size. -DrewZilla

It comes in 3 shell sizes for profile, where does the shells change by size? Sm/md, lg/xl and 2xl/3xl? I'm on the bubble of xl and 2xl and if the shell size increases at the 2xl version I'll go with the lower profile vs "bobble" head. Also, are the options for low profile helmets of this price range and helmet quality in intermediate oval head shape? Thanks!

The shell breakdown is XS-SM, MD-LG, and then XL-3XL, so you'd be in the largest shell. It's a pretty compact shell though. You won't really find anything with a smaller profile around the $200 mark, and it's my favorite helmet for the price. -DrewZilla

Does this helmet have smaller replacement cheek pads? I'm between an S and XS, but the cheekpads in the XS are very tight and push against my face. Maybe it's just not meant for my head shape :(

+Judit Lukacsovich The cheek pads should be quite tight to begin. Over time, they will loosen up. It is most important to make sure the helmet has a snug fit around the crown of your head. If you find that the cheek pads do not loosen up enough over the next month or so, you can get the size small liner set and just change out the cheek pads. If my head size falls between the large and the xl. Should I get the xl without worrying that it may then be too loose (I am a beginner and have read that most important factor to helmet protection is the right fit)?

revzilla how about the visor? you didn't really give me enough info about the visor. Things like, does it block the sun even if it's a clear visor? or how about fog, does it have any issues towards fogging up?

A clear visor won't block visible light, but it does block most UV. As for fogging, it has Scorpion's EverClear face shield, which has an anti-fog coating. -DrewZilla

Hi RevZilla, what would be the better helmet? EXO-R2000 or EXO-R710? I know that the R2000 is one of the lighter and was Scorpion's premium racing helmet, but it's Snell M2010 rated where at the R710 is Snell M2015 rated. Thoughts?

So you're aware, there's no significant difference between M2010 and M2015. There is no difference in construction, so any helmet that passed M2010 should pass M2015 as well. The main difference is in enforcement testing. For full details, see the Snell memo linked below. The specs says that the helmet has "kwikfit" (for the use of eyeglasses) but in 1:50 i see no place or rail for the temples. Have you tried it with eyeglasses? how does it fit?

how easy is it to swap the visor?

It's very easy. You open the visor all the way, slide the two spring-loaded levers at the pivot points, and the visor pops off. To reinstall, you just click each side of the visor into the pivot points at the same fully-opened visor position. It uses the same shield as on the EXO-R2000, and Anthony demonstrates the visor swap in that video (kzfaq.info/get/bejne/pOBofLNm0bS7m30.htmlm55s). Hope this helps! -DrewZilla

Hey Revzilla. I messure 56 cm, but a small Schuberth C4 is too small, and a small Agv ax-8 is a wee bit too big. Which size should I choose for this Scorpion?

This has a similar size and fit to the AGV, so even though you should fit size small, it might not work for you based on your experience with the AGV. -DrewZilla

The EXO-R2000 is the highest quality helmet of the bunch. In fact, one of the other Gear Geeks here has one and rides an SV, so it works great on that bike. If you have the budget for the EXO-R2000, I highly recommend it. -DrewZilla

No, the EXO-R710 is not Pinlock-ready, but the stock shield has an anti-fog coating. Additionally, all solid and graphics come with clear shields. Dark shields are sold separately. How does this compare to the AGV K3 SV which is in the same price range?

There are two big differences between the K3 SV and the EXO-R710. First, the K3 SV includes a drop down sun visor while the EXO-R710 is a basic full face. Second, the EXO-R710 uses fiber-composite shell construction, so it is slightly lighter than the K3 SV which uses Thermoplastic Resin construction. Both are good options with a similar intermediate oval head shapes, though. The EXO-R710 does not have an internal sun visor, but it is both Snell- and DOT-rated for safety. The K3 SV is only DOT-rated here in the US, but it does have the internal sun visor if you want that feature. No, Scorpion does not offer photochromic shields for their helmets. Currently, only Bell, Lazer, and Shoei have photochromic shields for some of their helmets. HEI HEI HEIII guys.... Can you please give a review or info about Exo710 the clean version not R I am interested in this helmet I see it on few sites but I dont find it on your`s. I see R is for race and the normal exo 710 is more like touring and this is my riding style ..... Please give info about difference. I see only pictures no vids bout it... the shell is a bit different and air vents but nothing else ???? Please replay :)

+Yordan Sergeev The R is not specifically for racing in this instance. The EXO-710 Air is the ECE-certified version sold in Europe, whereas the EXO-R710 is the DOT- and Snell-certified version sold here in the United States (the one we carry). That is why you will not see a review of the EXO-710 Air from us. The front forehead vents are different, but otherwise they are very similar. The EXO-R710 is perfectly good for upright touring as well as the 3/4 position, so it is a very versatile helmet. -DrewZilla

Purchased an Exo-r710 from you guys and just got around to ordering a Sena smh-10 Bluetooth headset. The speakers will not sit into the cutout made for the speakers; does anyone know how to make it fit or which Bluetooth speakers will fit this helmet? I tried it anyway and it hurts my ears way too much.

We usually recommend using the Sena's included Velcro speaker spacers to take up the space in the recessed speaker pockets, but if the speakers are already too close to your ears, you may still try using the speaker spacers to make the ear area level, and then position the speakers slightly forward of your ears' helix and scapha. Others have modified the speaker housing or speaker pockets slightly, in order to make speakers fit, but I'd caution against potentially damaging the speakers or the helmet. -DrewZilla

I couldn't get the Sena to fit so I ended up returning it. I contacted Scorpion and was told that the Scala Q1 would fit or any speakers that are 32mm. I ended up opting out on having speakers since I prefer to pay attention to the noise on the road. Hope that helps

We don't have access to the EXO-710 Air here in the US, so we cannot guarantee that the fit is the same. The fit is very similar for both. Also, it's not that one is safer than the other, the safety ratings are just _different_. -DrewZilla

Both are pretty equal in their quality and specs. Both have nice fiberglass shells and Snell safety ratings. The FG-17 is currently a bit more affordable, though, so I might go with the HJC. -DrewZilla

That's because the AIR version is the non-US version. The US version EXO-R710 is DOT- and Snell-rated for the American market. The 710 AIR is the version for Europe and the rest of the world. -DrewZilla

if it's an autofocus thing then fine, but the whole "BLURRRRRRRRRR AND THEN - WAIT FOR IT - FOCUS" just detracts from us trying to see the product. Jump cuts to Anthony are always in focus, it just seems like you guys do it for products. Don't get me wrong, love RevZilla. Got a shopping cart with $1k in it I'm about to check out on, just making final decisions on a few items

+BikerBoyZ There are more expensive helmets that are quieter (Schuberth S2/C3 Pro, Shoei Neotec/GT-Air/RF-1200), but this Scorpion EXO-R710 is among the quietest for its price. You need the helmet to fit snug for it to be quiet though. If it's an improper fit, it will be louder. -DrewZilla

+RevZilla thanks a lot... i think this is the one. i was looking for a not só expensive helmet that was quiet but that i could also thake to the track from time to time. once again thnks

+surearrow I wear glasses, and yes, you can comfortably wear glasses with the EXO-R710. -DrewZilla

In the specs they supply it says it has kwikfit. Which means it is usable with glasses. If you took 15 seconds to look at them you would know that. All the info you know they supply. Fantastic reviews.
