Motorcycle Extremist The neck roll and cheek pads sealed my intermediate oval head from wind and buffeting. I was very impressed. I still recommend ear plugs, but that's with any helmet. The Shark is a bit quieter and offers more vertical field of view, but the Scorpion has a slightly better face shield mechanism, increased ventilation, a more compact shell, and a lighter weight. For the chin vent, it's open in the middle and lower positions. For the front top vents, they're open when the rear of the switches are pushed in towards the helmet. The rear vents are always open. -DrewZilla

Many thanks, Mr. Viz! Incidentally, I'm totally with you on the Neotec. I have been wearing mine every day for almost 2 years now and it has been fantastic. My only complaint is that they didn't keep consistent with the fit; they went more round with it, so it's not quite as comfortable as my RF-1100. Shame, that, because if it fit like the Rf-1100 or even the GT-Air does it would be the perfect lid! I was hoping to change things up a little bit and not do another Matte helmet, but I do like them, and at $494, that is hard to pass up. I'm gonna play Devil's advocate here and ask you 2 things straight up: Do you prefer the GT-Air or the Shuberth S2? And if I wanted go with a less costly solution, would you pick this T1200 or the HJC RPHA ST? I'm likin' that Rugal, dude! Thanks for your time. You Gear Geeks pretty much rule!

Dennis M The Neotec and Qwest both have neutral head shapes compared to the intermediate oval to slightly narrow RF-1100, RF-1200, X-12, and GT-Air. The S2 kills my temples. If you have a Shoei head like me, the S2 may not fit well. The Rugal graphic is sick! Unfortunately, the RPHA ST has a neutral to slightly round head shape. Good info, man. I had a feeling the HJC was gonna be like that. I'm thinking I may give the T1200 a shot. Looks like Scorpion is stepping up their game. I had a EXO-1000 years ago. Good lid but it was dead in a year. These new gen lids look much better.

Correct. The standard face shield has an anti-fog coating on it. Scorpion does offer an accessory Pinlock face shield and Pinlock insert to fit this helmet though. RevZilla I was also looking at the HJC RPHA 10 and 11 , I ride in upright position , naked FZ-07 , Anthony says they are not appropriate helmets for upright riding , but I was on the chat with one of your reps and he said to just go for it. What helmets should I consider for a more upright position , $300-$350 range is probably best. I live in Florida where heat and humidity play a big role , and a pinlock is pretty much a must , intermediate oval is a good size. I currently have an LS2 Stream , it is my very first helmet and I am not very happy with it , it is also long oval so it doesn't fit that great . Please help.

If you want Pinlock and a drop-down sun visor in a sub-$400 helmet designed for upright riding, look at the HJC RPHA ST. Scorpion's US line of helmets are not ECE-approved, because they sell a different line of ECE-approved helmets in Europe. Look for the EXO-1400 Air, EXO-710 Air, EXO-510 Air, EXO-3000 Air, and EXO-920. Hope this helps! -DrewZilla
