Hermosa - that is Uli Jon Roth on guitar - he is kind of a guitar maestro and is quite unique in his approach to guitar playing - he has even gone to develop his own guitar called the sky guitar - he's strange in a way that he sees notes as colors and compares guitar playing to painting. He has teaches his methods through his acadamy. I think it was mostly just good drugs back then.

Ulrich Roth aka uli jon Roth a guitar savant and trend setter. This was his baby a real masterpiece of off TAKEN BY FORCE ( 1977 ). Guitar players in America stopped and we're awed by this era of scorpions. Listen to polar nights same thing a virtuoso

I love Rudolph Schenker but thats not him, Its Uli Jon Roth. Rudolph is on Rhythm Guitar playing the flying V. Scorpions are an incredible band, my preference is for the classic line up. Great reaction

Uli John Roth....SUPER KILLER. Michael Schenker on the Gibson Flying V to Uli's right. European Psychedelic Disco Funk Metal at its finest....70's Scorpions was off the chain! Loving the Rush reactions too...Rest in Peace Neil Peart! Keep on rockin!

I prefer Mathias Jabs over Uli Jon Roth myself, but that's what I grew up with too, but Mathias had more soul in his guitar playing to me.

The lead guitarrist is Ulrich(Uli) Roth one of the greatest guitarists ever and way ahead of his time, he left Scorpions in 78 and formed his band called Electric Sun, he still performs at 65 and still amazing, one of the guitar gods kzfaq.info/get/bejne/lcmjhs6K2anNZYk.html

No comparison IMO. Scorpions were at their best when Ulrich Roth (the guitarist) was a member. After he left the music got a bit thin

Believe Ulrich Roth on lead after Michael S. left for UFO. Rudolph was older brother to Michael. Rudolph was more rhythm oriented, Michael more lead. Herman (zee german) Rarebell on drums. Early Scorps was better IMO.

One of the Schenker brothers-either Michael or Rudy. Michael left them around this time to form his own group, he was also in UFO. They have some ridiculous feud going where Michael says Rudy sucks as a guitarist & Rudy says Michael is a bully.

@@Hi-kq1vi Rudolf Shenker is the rhythm guitarist on the left. The lead guitarist is Uli Jon Roth. They recorded four albums with him, plus the Tokyo Tapes live album. Sails of Charon is from their last album with him. Michael Shenker, Rudolf's brothers, played only on their first album in 1972 and he joined Ufo after, so they put Uli as the lead guitarist. When Uli left the band, Rudolf asked Michael to help Scorpions with some songs and guitar parts. So he recorded some ideas for their album Lovedrive on 1979. Most of the guitar solos of that album played by their new then and still main lead guitarist Matthias Jabs.

Rudy never wanted to be the greatest guitarist in the world or the fastest, he wanted to be the greatest composer of all time and he completed that. Michael was the one who went for flashier playing. The feud is over Lovedrive where Michael was never credited on the album for songs he wrote.
