The MOU for the construction phase was put in place during lockdown in 2020. The LNG will still have to be shipped by road tanker from Isle of Grain on the Thames. How green is that

And in NZ the replacement ‘mega ferries’ (50,000 tonnes each, bigger than Bismarck!) had to be cancelled because they were too big to fit in the terminals and dry dock. The woke Labour had ordered them solely on the grounds that they had lower carbon emissions per tonne of freight.

If you care to check you will find that the ferry operator that runs the Orkney catamaran ferry service offered to organise building of catamarans in any Scottish ship yard. The rumour is that the uk civil service stopped that option
