A very timely video in conjunction with Nick's series and in light of Scott's support for Nick's recent Public Outreach award. It's too bad any questions and answers were cut out of this video. It would be fascinating if some of the non-basaltic clasts from some of the layers could be analyzed as to possible source rock provinces...!

We need collaboration with well drillers to get their drill cores donated to science for Ancient Floods. Especially in deep drill wells.

Excellent information! Do not just look down river - look upriver as well. SInce there is clear evidence that some sort of flooding occurred on the upper Columbia as well, it would be amazing if some geologists devoted a similar effort to looking at the Columbia from Moses Coulee north to Canada. Hope that will be re examined and new dating done on that portion of the Columbia in the coming years.

@@churlburt8485 I know Jerome Lesmann and Joel Gombiner are doing a lot of digging just below the border, and I see that Skye Cooley and Bruce Bjornstad have done a lot of work on the lower Columbia tracing older rivers and floods and looking at dates. I just keep hoping the someone is looking at the terraces and erratics between Moses Coulee and Chelan and maybe doing a reassessment and checking dates again, especially the Pangborn Bar. I live in Malaga so I have a vested interest, LOL. I think there are more answers out there to be teased out.
