He probably should've played safe given the score, but he had a chance to make the ball and win the game and if he missed was going to leave Scott a very difficult do or die shot. Plus he probably thought he would hit the ball a little better because if he had hit it a little better and hung the ball and not left a bank Scott wouldn't have been able to run out. I probably would've taken that shot, but in my games I'm not playing against that caliber of player.

2:07:45 Big cajones Scott! Great shot under match pressure. I would have either shot the 5 ball with a take out or just the take out. Especially after already hanging 2 balls earlier in the game. Kudos buddy, and good meeting you at Michaels a few weeks back. Got your DVD.

Scott pulled a fast one at 1:52:49. He owed a ball and didn't spot it. Then, removed the coin after he spotted the 9 which he shot in the upper corner pocket, lol.

Racks 5 and 6 intentionally racked at an angle favoring Scott on his own break. Really sad to see that. I think he figured since he got away with not spotting the correct amount of balls in rack 4 that he would take advantage of Cliff's good character. Scott cheated his way to beating the better player in this meeting.

While I'm not sure what the Derby's rules are, after seeing the re-rack after making a ball on the break, I would think that: (1) If you're racking your own balls, a ball made on the break would require a re-rack. Or, (2) If you're racking for your opponent, any balls made would be counted. Just my opinion.
@RailbirdsTV
@RailbirdsTV 6 жыл бұрын
The DCC rule is that a ball made on the break counts, and the shooter keeps shooting. Scott and Cliff agreed among themselves that it should be a re-rack. You can even hear them discussing it if you listen closely enough.

In that last game, what a shame. In my opinion, Cliff never should have even contemplated shooting that 15 ball. He only needed 1 ball to win. Had it been a "fairly easy" shot, then, by all means, try it. But, when you only need 1 more to win, and your opponent needs all the rest of them, "duck & hide". That's what I would've done, anyways. Barring a major screwup, chances are you're going to prevail. Oh well. NEXT! LOL
@vjerannizic937
@vjerannizic937 6 жыл бұрын
Yes, real true....that was tricky shot and overcuted lol....but still 15 ball was near pocket. what impress me that Scott played that combo instead of kicking out 15. What a shot in those moment...and runout after that....superb. Still I have feeling that Scott wasnt in good form trough whole game. He missed two big chances in last game , unexpected for me knowing how good he is. But on the end he woke up his playing nicely....

In the 4th rack when the score is 7 to -1 Scott makes scores 2 balls and then plays safe making a ball in the upper right corner - he then spots 1 ball not 2! And no one can say a word?

Terrible positioning of the scores - especially considering this is one-pocket. The only pockets we're interested in are covered by that bar. Come on guys. Have a way of flipping it to the top as an alternative maybe. Other than that, very nice game. I always like watching Scott Frost's game.
