Olympic Gold Medalist and figure skating commentator Scott Hamilton knows a thing or two about preparation and dedication. His sport demands that a competitor come as close to perfect as possible. No break or fault goes unpunished by the judges. Scott mastered the sport and its nuances to become the world's best.
Yet as good as he was, he could not on his own handle some of life's biggest challenges to his health. Cancer. A re-occuring brain tumor. In the times that he needed someone by his side, there was always Someone there. Someone he has grown to know, to love,. The one who introduced him to his wife and who has made having children possible. In this film he recalls a journey that many others are also traveling, and its telling never gets old.

I was watching an interview with Scott recently, and I suspected he was a Christian. So glad to see that it's true! What a class act.

My pastor Max Lucado is doing a teaching on knowing your inheritance in God through Christ. I know there are a lot of Christians who think it's not right to ask God for something but as children of the King we have that gift of being able to.

My childhood was extremely unhappy, but I remember having joy watching you skate! When they announced you were next I was so excited because you were the best, you put on such an amazing show and I would wait with eyes glued to the screen waiting on your backflip! I seem to remember a time when backflips were not allowed, but you did it anyways for your fans, and you lost points for it if I remember correctly? I wasn't a Christian then, but I am now and I'm so happy to call you my brother in Christ! If I never meet you in this life, I know I will someday! God bless you and your family, I'm lifting you up in prayer and thanking God for men like you who love the Lord!

He was one of my mother's favorite ice skaters back in the day. We always knew he was a Christian, but it's awesome to actually hear his story.

I'm 54. I remember the skating, and it inspired me to skate at age 10. We lived in Jersey, and I looked forward all year to the ponds and lakes freezing so us kids could go skate. It was the most fun I ever had. God bless you!

Scott, I was there in 1984 when you won the gold and was sitting with the Canadian hockey team as they joined me in cheering you on in your performance. You made me so proud to be an American and one of the most emotional moments of my life was when you took the stage and they played the Star Spangled Banner as our flag rose above the others. Brandon and Sheryl shared this as we have been going through a trying time ourselves and I must say that you make me so proud to be a follower of Jesus.

Oh no Scott. I am from New Zealand and I am SURE there are many others who remember you in your skating hey-day. You were a joy to watch on the ice - as were othersI used to watch such as Torvill and Dean.

One of my all-time favorite figure skaters. I remember him for his flips on the ice. Amazzzzing God-given talent!!!!!

This is so amazing. I remember when he had testicular cancer. I helped in making a quilt for him - did a cross stitched square for it. I prayed so much for him - God answered in amazing ways. Praise Jesus!!! :)

I wonder if your mom ever told you the story of the pebble in the pond? When a pebble is thrown into a still pond droplets of water "jump " up and then fall on the water creating rings. Those rings radiate out and touch all of the other rings until the rings reach the farthest edge of the pool. Every time we do something we are that pebble and our actions affect everyone , many times people we will never meet. Scott Hamilton is not only a pebble but a boulder because he had touched so many people in so many ways. We have all been blessed by the pebbles and stones and even boulders that this man has thrown into the pond, and I am so very grateful that he has done so. I love Scott Hamilton and I am blessed that he has affected my life in so many ways.

I remember watching him in the Olympics and seeing his excitement as he got closer to winning. I knew about the testicular cancer, but not the brain tumors. God bless him. And that nurse. I've had angels show up a couple of times. It's a very gracious feeling when you realize who they were.

Wow! This video is such a beautiful example of how God can bring a greater good from anything!!! I grew up watching this remarkably talented man skate and followed him through all of his health struggles and was always amazed at his composure and strength of character though out his career and because of that he was such a source of inspiration to me! I even got to meet him in passing on day in 1999(I think) while I was connecting to a flight in Chicago Airport and quietly went up to him and asked if I could shake his hand and told him how much of an inspiration he had been to me and he was as humble and as down to earth as ever! I am so Thankful that he is sharing his testimony with the world! Scotty Hamilton You are truly a Blessing! Thank you for allowing God to you use you and your amazing talents to make this world a better place an win people to Christ! P.S. I especially loved the part where Scott said that the ONLY TRUE DISABILITY is a BAD ATTITUDE! Amen to that!

Truly inspiring. It breaks my heart to hear you say you consider yourself more famous for your health problems than your successes on the ice. At least for me, that's not true. :) I remember you - when I was growing up as a little girl - for your inspirational smile, fantastic and creative performances, and of course that legendary backflip! All the same, I'm so sorry for all of the health problems and scares you experienced in your life. Thank you for taking the time to share your God moments with us. You continue to inspire people every day through your strength.

I've always loved Scott Hamilton's personality - how wonderful to know that He serves the Master. His story was a great encouragement to a friend of mine (father of 5 boys still in the home) who is also suffering from a brain tumor but who found the Lord through it all. Scott's story made him cry.

We serve an awesome God, Master Designer of Heaven and Earth and that is in it, on it and over it....and us. So happy that you know the Redeemer, and answered His call. "I LOVE YOU SCOTTIE". I used to yell this from the stands as my mom and I watched you at Stars On Ice. Can't wait to yell it again during the Alaskan Cruise July 2014. Thanks for your testimony. As one of "five out of six" in my immediate family with cancer (my dad and my sister have already passed) I know the power and strength of a relationship with God. He is good ALL the time :-)

What's not to like about this? Anyone who's ever had cancer or any illness of any kind need to watch this! It's greater then any Olympic victory!

The only true disability in life is a BAD attitude. -- Wonderful words to live by! Particularly since I live with a disabling, and painful chronic condition that has made me chronically feel bad (emotionally) too. I truly want to begin - now - to think differently, like Scott Hamilton, his story was very inspiring.

Thank you for that uplifting testimony Scott. I am going through such a rough time right now with having had uterine cancer and to now the threat of being homeless. I have AlwAys prayed to God and despite everything I thank him for everything in my life. I have never asked for anything , but as of today I will change my way of praying. I honestly think if I pray for the right things and ask God to open doors and put the right people in my life , that I can definitely move forward and rise up with God's help.

Thank you for your powerful testimony, Scott. You have always been a favorite celebrity of mine throughout your career. I even had the opportunity to see you perform live in Great Falls, MT many years ago. I've had two husbands die of brain cancer. I remarried a wonderful Christian man with multiple health issues including prostate cancer for which he takes periodic chemotherapy and is continually monitored. We depend upon the LORD to see us through each day and delight in His promises. The best is yet to come!

Scott Hamilton wondered why people loved to watch him skate, yes he was good but so were other's. What set him apart was the love and joy he felt when he was on the ice. Even though he wasn't aware of it at the time, people saw that special light that only comes from God shining through him and they wanted more. They didn't know what it was they just knew it was there in him. It was later in life that he found it for himself. I have watched him through the years and had prayed that he would find God if he already hadn't. So he could understand and see what we were seeing all those years shining through him when he skated on the ice.

Debra Enderle Thankfully God answered all our prayers once again. In an interview Scott said the doctors “didn’t know how that tumor could have shrunk with no treatment.” He smiled and with a choked voice said “But I knew. I knew:”

Im a breast cancer survivor and God healed me and know i am currently living with multiple cancers and its amazing to see God's grace and strength in our ives.. Just good enough to skate? Oh Scott buddy, you need to go back and look at your performances! Very powerful message. Continued prayers for you. I admired you before and this testimony makes me admire you more. I know this is a long rant. I was born with Turner Syndrome in which short stature is the main characteristic. This inspired me to be grateful for the blessings I have and realize there is a purpose. This really got to me. We love you Scott!

Wish you were still skating! & w/all the skaters, Hollywood actors, etc. who've come out as gay, please stay true to your faith! Day 7 - National Prayer Week Last Day - Easter Sunday - Good News, He is Risen! Sunday April 5th Pray for the Churches - Pray for the Church, pray for the Bible to be taught in the Church, pray for the Pastors, pray for the Sunday school teachers, pray for the Holy Spirit to revive the Church. Pray for a revival, pray for the empty seats, pray people to come through the doors, pray for the Word of God be taught without compromise, pray for the Church to take care of the people, pray for the members to tithe regularly, pray for the staff. Pray that every Church makes Jesus the center! All these prayers are in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. The Name above all names.

As a retired special education teacher, I have worked with kids with a wide range of disabilities. I agree with your statement, "The only true disability in life is a bad attitude." I've worked with sweet and joyful kids in wheelchairs with whom everything had to be done for them by a para-professional. Their attitudes humbled me and taught me to be more grateful. Every life has value and a purpose, no matter the disabilities. Thank you for sharing your powerful testimony, Scott.

I smoke, I drink and I'm not the grandma you'd want...plus I don't believe in a god, but I DO believe in your courage, talent, kindness.
