Famed music producer Scott Storch opened up to VladTV about his path to success in music, which included him writing songs at 11 years old and teaching himself how to play piano. Storch explained that he got his first big break when he dropped out of school in ninth grade to be the keyboardist for "The Square Roots," which later turned into The Roots. After admitting that it felt good to have produced a gold album when he was only 18, Scott said that he left the group in search to be a full-time producer and to escape being known as "the white keyboardist for The Roots."
Moving on, Scott spoke about how The Roots' "You Got Me" first came together, including Geffen Records' last-minute decision to replace Jill Scott with Erykah Badu. When asked which version was better, Scott told us that he likes both Jill and Erykah's version.
To hear more from our interview with Scott, including how Eve introduced him to Dr. Dre, hit the above clip.

jetshockey5 Hysterical. you don't just get royalties to get royalties. there is more to it.. i won't even bother to explain because its clear you have no idea what you're talking about. and if you're here to try an argue my initial post you won't succeed either.. because it is public information that he had a total earnings of just over 10 thousand in 2014.

+Saitama Taichou Its not uncommon for people to teach them self's as hes no different than me. I've taught myself too. As I've been playing keyboards for 19 years since 1998. I have two videos on my channel playing keyboards. I"m also a former gospel keyboard player. Having a piano background really makes you stand out from other beatmakers aka "Songwriters".because only the sky is your limit. I can do more cross over genres than any other songwriter out there. I don't even read sheet music and can play jazz and gospel keys.

People gotta know their business, fuck a "famous name". Had someone tell me outta Dr. Dre camp that they'd never give me credit for something they produced even if I worked on it. Lmmfao, I'm a Grammy: Engineer/Producer SESAC : Songwriter/Producer..... "Give unto Cesar what's Cesar's". I'd never let anyone use me or anyone I'm connected with. {copyright-entertainment attorney-etc.,}. I even told dude off the top I prefer only copy written music to be sent to me before I start mixing....

Scott, and Quest Love, wrote & produced the majority of both of the first 2 albums. And, before Storch left, he had some involvement in Illadelph Halflife. Whole group are great musicians. But, for me when I heard Rahzel. "All I Know, He's a Bad MF!" I got mad respect for Doug E, Biz, & Fat Boys, But, Rahzel changed the game with that shit !
