In this case, we have a multi-millionaire who hits a small ball for a living vs a law enforcement officer who puts his life on the line for a living and whose income may reach 100k with a lot of overtime. It is not a surprise that the small ball hitter thought he could just drive on a median, where traffic is never allowed, because his experience has been that he almost always gets special treatment. I doubt that he will face appropriate consequences, but doubt that he will because the wealthy usually find a way to avoid accountability.

How is Stephen A reporting this later than everyone else after certain facts came out and still report it wrong. The golfers were give instruction to bypass traffic. Scottie was in a marked vehicle that was supposed to let that happen. The officer was easily identified and jumped onto the car. Scottie stopped when he realized what was actually happening. It doesn't take long to drive 10 yards in a car so honestly its not that far after the cop jumped on it. There was a miscommunication between officers and or officials. Which is why this officer tried stopping him. Hence the arrest.

If the case is dismissed, the police will look bad and it will seem that Scottie has received priority treatment. If the case goes ahead, they will probably just fine him for some of the charges and Scottie will offer an apology or money donated to the police fund. Tiger Woods was in a well documented accident that he caused and police did not charge him. This is a public relations disaster either way.

I’d imagine 15-20 feet is a reasonable distance stop once you realize someone is holding onto your car. Cars go that distance in less than a second even when slowly accelerating

Good take on this Stephen…like you said unfortunately alot of unknowns and will probably remain that way given the arresting officer had no recording camera footage!!??? I agree with you that more than just a few heads will roll because of this. It has to be said that days prior to these unfortuante events, players and pgatour officials alike had expressed real concern about the lack of proper traffic control at the entrance to Valhall Golf club. In my view the misunderstanding was on two levels…firstly a glaring lack of proper communication between the officer who told Scheffler to proceed around the traffic stop and enter the club and the officer who decided to stop Scheffler. And secondly a breakdown in understamding of the conversation or orders that was issued by the second officer who stopped the vehicle…Scheffler obviously thought he said he was clear to proceed. This is all very embarrassing to the Mayor of Louisville and the law officers imvolved…so much so…that questions were asked at the White House Press Comference about the imcident!!!!?????

His car was marked as a participant/golfer...all such cars were allowed in & only those cars. He was to hv access to enter golf club, and was expecting so to be able to make his t-time. He did not knowingly drag a person w his car, it was dark & rainey. Scotty is not person to drag a anyone knowingly, ask EVERYONE who has dealt w him. Excessive confusion and a cop who obviously was not paying attention to the signage on the car in the 1st place wanting to exert his power over tge traffic and Scotty just doing what he was told 1stly and trying to make t-time, esp because there are rules of disqualification if u don't! It would take approximately 2.05 seconds to travel 15 yards at a speed of 15 mph. Not really a lot of time. Its dark and looks wet/rainy. If he was already driving around the accident before the officer stepped out at him
