Tilly, as an American I can tell you that we have no more stalwart allies then the Brits and your cousins the Scots, the Irish, the Canadians, and the Aussies. We see you as family across the pond, and your struggles our are struggles. Your joys are our joys as family. If anyone even so much as lays a hand on your beautiful country and people it will be our honor to defend you and to put our hands to the plow to lay them low.

@@leovaldez5419 I’d argue we’re more patriotic then ever. It might not sound like it on the surface but if you look at it then I think its clear. Imo it’s far more patriotic to recognize your country’s problem and fight to fix them rather then accepting the way things are. Our founding fathers didn’t settle and neither should we. The issue is people see right v left instead of actually talking and compromising. I have plenty of friends who don’t share my political opinions and we’ve seen eye to eye on some issues and compromised others. If they actually talk they’d see we all want the same thing just have different opinions on how we achieve it.

Fun Fact: Toby Kieth was originally not going to record the song and just sing it at live events for military personnel. However, the troops liked it so much that the highest ranking officer of the Marines told him he should record the song, even that it was his duty as an American citizen to do so. He told him if Kieth wanted to contribute to the War in Afghanistan (remember this wasn't long after 9/11), recording this song was how he could do it. Just kind of adds another layer to the song, really.

@@tsdobbi IKR? We all know that Saddam Hussein didn't orchestrate the attack on 9/11. No it was the Saudis (Osama Bin Laden was a son of the royalty), but since Republicans are allies with the Saudis, Bush Jr. and Cheney decided it would be more economically profitable to start a campaign against Iraq. BTW, Saddam put a target on his back when he offered $30k to the surviving family of anyone suicide bombing Israel. That sealed his doom right there.

"The Star-Spangled Banner" might be our National Anthem, but Toby Keith's "Courtesy of The Red, White & Blue" is more like our battle/war anthem. Toby wrote what all of us Americans were feeling after 9/11. In a way, it kinda became a new anthem for many of us. My daughter & I saw him several times, & every time he'd do this song, the roof would nearly get blown off by the fans cheering, screaming, & clapping. It would get wild! A few yrs ago, Toby let everyone know that he was battling stomach Cancer. He was getting many treatments for it & it looked like he was gonna beat it. Sadly, he passed away Monday February 5, 2024 at the age of 62. If you see a more recent video of him singing this song, he's not singing it with the energy that he normally would bc of the Cancer. Also, if you haven't already done so, you should really watch the official video bc it shows him performing this song for the troops & his interactions with them, & their reactions to the song. It's really touching.

I’ve heard the song a million times but I’ve never seen this video, wow it gives me chills!! It’s crazy to me that there’s a whole generation that wasn’t even alive when 9/11 happened, just like there are generations that weren’t live during the holocaust. Our son has never known a world in which we weren’t at war post 9/11. I was just 13 miles from the Air Force base it was rumored the President was being flown to, my mom called me and wanted me to make the 2 hour drive home just in case the base was a target. I was in college and had just moved a couple weeks prior.

I get all that, people felt like we had to do something. But in the end the results of actions in Iraq were not positive overall. Many veterans died or came out physically and mentally scared.(for what? To show the world we were serious?(not serious to know what we were doing or to plan ahead how to rebuild) to handle the anger we all felt? Many Iraqis died. It facilitated the rise of ISIS through instability and sectarian violence. The Iraq war was mismanaged. We were Lied to by the administration to get us to enter the war, no WMD’s, many iraqis dead, our veterans, trillions basically wasted. This song makes me think of an unthinking willingness to go along with those times. It’s a complex feeling and a complex time and I think this song(although capturing the feeling of a moment) does not capture much depth.

Right now, more than ever, true Americans need to remember how we felt and when Toby released this song. Because we are under attack again. And to be completely honest I am more concerned about this enemy than the enemy being talked about in this song. I was in the Marines during that time, Unafraid and ready, because "they" didn't matter who just f#cked up. Let us show you who you just picked a fight with. That's how we felt. But after 20 years of weakness and my own government and culture beating down patriotism, masculinity, self pride, and pushing this division and woke narrative.... and seeing with my own eyes our strong powerful military caving to it. I am almost lost for words. The flag does fly at my home. Right above our front door shortly before the welcome mat. Just beyond that you will find Patriots who grew up in the real America. Who served and continue to serve our country and community to this very day. Thank you for this song I needed it.

We realized these wars really happened to line the pockets of the Bush Admins business partners? The reality is, we never needed to invade Afghanistan to get those responsible for 9/11. Iraq had literally nothing to do with it. But hey! Lets invade anyway. Add to that if the people there didn't hate us then, they most certainly hate us now. I mean how do you expect some kid that was ten when a "collateral damage" bomb levelled his home killing his whole family to react? Do you expect him to realize "oh its for the good of my country?" No, he was probably setting up IED's on US patrol routes within 5 years... I got sold the lie and joined the Army shortly after the invasion of Iraq. At the time I joined I was blasting Toby Keith songs and ready to go fuck up some terrorists. Over the course of my enlistment I grew a brain.

My husband is a retired Green Beret who spent the last 5 years of his 26 year career as a Special Forces Battalion Medic in Iraq. Toby Keith was, and still is, a mainstay on his playlist. We had the pleasure of meeting him at a concert and he was such a great guy! He really loves our military. My dad was Air Force in Korea. My mother-in-law joined the Army when women didn’t really do that (lol..she’s a badass!) and my father-in-law was career Army. I couldn’t serve due to blindness in one eye, but I love me some military!! Thanks for spreading such positive energy for the USA.

Thank you so, so much for your sincere interest and enthusiasm for my country when so many don’t; you just may be one of our greatest overseas’ cheerleaders, and it is greatly appreciated. It is devastating to see the US being totally destroyed from WITHIN; you give many of us just a little bit of reprieve so that we don’t forget how it used to be. Blessings to you.🇺🇸

So glad you enjoyed the song. Thank you for loving America so much! You know that people in the south get our southern accent from y'all right? Many Scottish people settled in the deep south here and fought with us to become free from the British rule and the Scottish accents blended with ours and wa lah, southern accents were born. Lol. We say things like " I RECKON and other words you don't hear people from the northern states say. Our folk songs came from y'all too and turned into country music. I think our clogging dancing came from your Scottish style of dance also. The Scottish people brought lots of great things to America, especially their fearless will to fight in battles and wars and we thank y"all for it all.

HELLO! Omg so when I first started this video I didn’t remember this song lol 😂 then when I heard it I was jamming out singing along. This PERFECTLY sums up our culture as a people and country. Our country was soaked in the blood of Americans both on our own home front and on others. You will see a flag on almost every street and every house. Some think we do this out of greed or to show off but, that’s not it at all. We show our American pride, we show honor to the fallen from both our own and our allies who have fallen with us, we do it to show our commitment to each other, our commitment to our communities, our commitment to our country, and most importantly our commitment to God! Loved the vid. ❤️

Hello. Glad to hear you mention the Scottish/Irish descendants who settled in the deep South of the USA. Thank you. I love your reaction and your comments... not only because you're respectful and you say exactly what you mean, but even moreso because you seemed to understand the drive and emotion the song intended and what so many of us felt at that time...and continue to stand behind it. I wish that your reaction showed up in absolutely everyone's feed... here in America especially...because I honestly think too many people have indeed forgotten the tragedy of 9/11 in the sense of forgetting how that felt and the reasons our military did what HAD to be done and the sacrifices so so many have made to give us the freedom we have. Most have no idea whatsoever of what our military endure, even in peace times. Im a proud Mom of a U. S. Marine. Whether in times of conflict or in peace, their dedication to this country is the same. When 9/11 occurred, There was a great sense of unity and patriotism that this country could definitely use right now. Thank you again so much. I just subscribed day before yesterday and I am so glad that I did.
