The Scottish Vintage Bus Museum held their 24th Open Weekend on 18th and 19th August 2018. I was hoping to be there for the full weekend. Sadly this was not to be as I was unable make it on Sunday. A wide variety of buses where on show with some operating an internal service and a ½ Hourly service to Dunfermline. I think we all enjoyed the event despite the miserable weather.
Many Thanks to everyone involved for a fantastic Day.

Great video, my only complaint is that it makes me feel old as I have held a PSV licence for many years, since the 1980's, and drove many similar vehicles back in the day before they were vintage!

Great video there. I do like that Scottish Greyhound looking bus at the end of the video. It kind of reminds me of those used in the United States.

It was the Alexander M-Type, influenced by the Greyhound coaches in the USA. It's introduction in the mid-70's coincided with me working in London, away from my home in Dunfermline. I've many happy memories riding these coaches to & from Edinburgh usually on the overnight service up the A1, then on the A697 through Coldstream in the Borders. These coaches were the height of luxury at the time with reclining seats & typical of the operators, you got a travel pillow and quality blanket. These coaches linked London to Edinburgh, Glasgow, and Aberdeen every night in both directions. Later on, Alexander (Fife) had a London to Dunfermline & Glenrothes overnight service using this body on Leyland Leopard chassis. Still, in my mind, one of the best looking Alexander coaches of their time and sadly, the example at the Museum appears to be the only one left in existence.

Yes, You can tell a lot of work goes into getting them to such a high standard. They really are impressive, and a nice variety of old and new,

1:15 nice to see a Routemaster in a locally appropriate livery. Diesel Bedford OB's a relative novelty. A bit noisier than the more familiar version.

What do I know, some of the companies insignias and colour schemes, looked a little over the top, such as Alexander on that green single decker, some needed to be aged, rather than look like a new paint job.

Yes I can see your point, I can also see it from the owners point of view wanting his/her bus on show looking as good as possible. I just consider myself really lucky to see them.
