despite the obvious jokes and whatnot, scp-8008 is actually quite strong. giving the wearer to blink around scp-173 and be unharmed. Even having a conversation with scp-173 in real time, even though it seemed impossible to communicate with the statue in the first place. some parts are obvious hallucinations like the kissing and new forms but, others are very real. even being able to communicate with scp-096 without seeing them, knowing its very real requests. The glasses give the wearer a more comfortable perception of a monster/creature and very easily gives them a proper way of communication. It's actually really cool and if the side effect wasn't strange matching dreams, possible insanity, and certain death it would be a very useful scp to help proper communication and understanding. like with scp-682 and understanding its origin.

Imagine some researcher just watching some nerd casually walk up and affectionately pet SCP-682. Just...petting it in the same way you'd pet a new girlfriend and everyone else is waiting for the part where your body is reduced by half but it never comes. Just petting and the increasing feeling of being the third wheel. Just Him, the Unkillable Lizard...and you.

He better become who we play as next time, or he better be just as cool EDIT: forgot to mention, he's ALSO so focused on the task at hand even terrifying, deathly dangerous circumstances don't make him teeter off his goal

It's funny the game maker chosen these 3 specifically since it was canonical 096 and 173 were cross-tested with 682 to see which one can actually kill 682 lmao.

Scp 8008 is gone in the good ends, and this is my theory about what SCP 8008 is. I think SCP 8008 is a pair of glasses that gives the image of the beauty of what the thing in front of you is... Anyway, the reason it's missing is that in my theory to completely master SCP 8008 you have to fall in love with the object or thing and have them love you back this is why in the good endings where the love is 2 sided the glasses disappear. Because they have fused into the SCP and he has fulfilled that requirement. And now he is either considered an SCP himself or just forever has the power of SCP 8008. And that power is to make things love you and make them beautiful to you while at the same time make you beautiful to them, it may even be that the glasses project an image of what the person or SCP wants to look like.

i can't believe it took me this long to realize why they used the number 8008 specifically for the scp, i can feel the age kicking in.

_The Anime Disease_ is a strong one. i wonder if the higher ups of the scp foundation are in more control and have the so called high ranking researchers are just an expendable resource as its expected for them to die. Kinda like lob co. Scp 8008 does have a psychic hold on you and thats how the hallucinations and voices play out which also could potentially repel the more physical anomalies. So any odd behavior recorded would have had the researchers abstain from continuous exposure. The anime disease got a hold of the protag real good and seems like you only really need to wear them once. Pretty dangerous glasses, i keep reading it as boob lol.

The characters move like characters from v-tubers,its interesting that a game has characters with this kind of movement,it makes moments more cute or goofy instead of scary or threathening with the exception being the times where we see scp-096 face because as adorable as they may be,those eyes really get you.

i feel it's important to know that Dr. Theron Sherman is the SCP scientist oc of popular SCP content creator Site-42, also known as Sherman. the real man has stated that his character is canonically asexual, and i'd imagine someone putting him in their scp fangame knows that, and i feel it is heavily implied that his asexuality spares him the negative side effects of 8008 which is really funny to me. also it being the oc of a real man is probably why we don't get a secret bromance route with him but man... i also kinda wish there was something with him.... but only if the real man is okay with it.

You know, an SCP that makes it possible for anything to fall in love with anything else sounds nice.

I think that SCP-8008 isn't just affecting the wearer with hallucinations but it's also affecting the SCPs, otherwise they wouldn't have bothered with speaking with the MC, even if communication was possible. We see this when the MC went to speak to SCP-682, the creature ignored MC until he put on the glasses. As for what they see, I imagine it would be a version of the MC that they could see as attractive, possibly as the same species as they are. The glasses work as a translator too so thoughts and intent are translated to their respective hallucinations.

I very much appreciate the Dr. Sherman reference. I like to see that he's expanding in popularity. I also like to see that they included him taking notes like he does in his videos.

To be fair, I'm actually impressed that this actually puts some proper context into SCP-682, and paints them in a better light than it seems. Although they hate humanity, which you are a part of, they do learn to tolerate you a little, and they are truly baffled when you actually prove to be a existence that they actually felt reluctant to kill for once. And in my opinion, that is very much in-character for 682. Now, there are many interpretations of 682's mindset, the most common being a indiscriminate hater of life itself, and murderer of all it sees. However, in my opinion, I see that issue being more of a created desire rather than a voluntary desire, i.e it may be genetical, mental, or even spiritual, but not exactly emotional. They have no qualms to following that impulse to kill life, but they're not against being persuaded against it. That's how I believe that SCP-8008 actually provides a mean to placate 682, if only slightly enough to not be killed as another victim... or least not immediately. It might be an old being who sees humanity in contempt, as shown in one of the SCP stories, because of the negativity within the race (After all, it sees most of life as pests of varying sins and negative traits). So kudos to the creator for actually making me feel a little sympathy for our memetic lizard-killer, without much of a side that nags me to say 'that's not how it works'.

Funny thing, I didn't for a second see these characters as their anime personas, maybe I've just read too much SCP stuff but I can only ever see such characters as the fucked up anomalous creatures they are. Give me those glasses, maybe I'd be immune xD

In this game all the SCPs were Yandere, mostly, but I can imagine a Dating Sim when: SCP-173 is the clingy girl that demands all of your attention, SCP-682 is the Tsundere girl and SCP-096 is the Shy Girl, that makes sense to anyone? ^o^

35:44 it actually makes a lot of sense. Think about it, they're a secret underground facility that hosts a lot of anomalies, and are constantly having even more added to their facility. Expanding the facility with new wings and cell blocks is an obvious necessity, especially when a new anomaly's Special Containment Procedure requires a custom cell to be built specifically for them. However, since it's underground, they'd need to excavate a space for them to expand the facility. That takes some heavy equipment that'd be difficult to transport there, and said equipment would be powerful enough to damage the facility if they aren't careful. Building the facility in a cave solves this problem by creating space for them to keep heavy excavation equipment as well as room to operate the equipment without risking damage to the facility.
