The Serpent's Hand is one of the most dangerous Groups of Interest that opposes and fights back against the SCP Foundation, and they are suspected of being responsible for numerous security breaches as SCP sites and locations. They are a small but formidable group, and they seem to be growing in size at a rapid rate.
The group embraces the use SCP creatures and objects and the Serpent's Hand has been extremely vocal in criticizing the containment and destruction of these SCPs by the Foundation.

I find it interesting that the 4 main SCP focused groups kinda keep each other in check. Because they're all somewhat willing to work with each other if a different group goes too far.

Save for the Chaos Insurgency, they all seem to agree that The Scarlet King should definitely be dealt with permanently. The Chaos Insurgency just wants to see the omniverse burn and can't be reasoned with beyond "Will it destroy everything ? If not, I'm not interested"

I feel like this is how anomalies should be treated: 1. The GOC should be given obviously dangerous anomalies to be researched and later neutralized 2. The SCP foundation should contain any dangerous SCPs that cannot be neutralized (scp- 682 for example) and/or those that should not become public (SCP-1000) in fear of future consequences that pose a threat to humanity, as well as using certain scps to aid in the research and containment of other scps 3. The Serpent's hand should be given harmless or helpful anomolies and try to integrate them into the outside world for the betterment of mankind (like SCP- 999) 4. These three groups should then join forces to take out malicious groups of interest (the Chaos Insurgency or the Children of the Scarlet King) in order to protect the world tl;dr: these groups could join forces without necessarily straying from their mission statements and not only become a powerful force against anomalies, but also make futher humanity as a whole in the process.

Honestly I feel like the SH has one of the most reasonable treatment plans for anomalies, especially the ones that are actually safe. I feel like the best approach would be a combination of all of the 4 main ideologies used on a case by case basis

The thing is that unlike the other three, the UN at least TRIES to be democratic at least to a degree. There's no way normal humans would be able to change the goals of the Engineer, LS, or the O5. Even though the GOC can be abhorrent for now (at least in some regards), they at least do have SOME accountability and in theory those goals could be changed.

@@denkerbosu3551 Being devil's advocate I guess the idea is to use anomalies to benefit people without necessarily disclosing that they are anomalies. The Foundation kind of does that but only if doing so directly helps containment of other anomalies. The idea of the Insurgency is to use them for the benefit of whoever has possession of them but it isn't the worst thing when watered down with some of the goals of the other GOI's.

Fun Fact: the Serpent Hand and idea of other Groups of interest concept were created by the legendary Dr.Gear. The person, not the character. Glad he did, because it just adds to the ever mysterious SCP Universe.

This isn't true :) ... the various groups had different authors. The Serpent's Hand was written by "PairOfDucks", also responsible for writing Dr. Glass. The Wander's Library was written in collaboration by him and Dr. Mann (the author).

I think The Foundation Database is anomalous enough. Not only does it have a variety of Pattern Screamers hiding within it's code, it's also somehow capable of preserving files created in alternate timelines prior to a shift (probably somehow caused by the afor mentioned Screamers). The Serpent's Hand infecting The Entire Network: Even I have limits

This is my take on the Serpent's hand. Yes, they do have the risk of being manipulated by an evil SCP or accidently releasing one - but otherwise they raise some good points - like awareness and that there are some SCPs that I'd argue don't need containing.

Both the Foundation and the Serpent's Hand have justifications for doing what they do- the Foundation wants to protect humanity from what it doesn't understand, while the Serpent's Hand wants humans to actively try to understand these anomalies instead of imprison them. Maybe if they work together, they could do amazing, extraordinary things.

Serpents hand is the closest thing to a real common threat to the scp foundation The GOC is just a frenemy to the foundation, they clash ideals, but often help the foundation in the end The chaos insurgency are just evil for the sake of being evil, and are the main rivals to the scp foundation, but by now the foundation is used to the chaos insurgency raids The serpents hand however, poses a legitimate threat to the foundation, they are the most skilled and they have succeeded many times, they still remain the most mysterious organization in the scp universe by far

I don't know to me it sounds a bit far fetched and a bit unrealistic of you really think about it. since even if the Serpents hand does theoretically expose the truth what would that change? since it's not like normal people would be able to stand up to the foundation. some of them may not even care and most would probably just have unnecessary fear from dangerous scps. that could've been kept on a lid had they not been revealed to the general public.

I like to consider the Serpent's hand are like a group with good intentions, but lack a fully fleshed out plan. Basically, Serpent's hand is a protagonist, along side the foundation. They're like rivals who are also buddies sometimes. The GOC and Chaos insurgency are like the mavericks who are sometimes evil, but not always the bad guys. Groups like "Are We Cool Yet?", Gamers Against Weed, Dr. Wondertainment, the Church of the Broken God and the Sarcests are recurring characters, some as allies and some as enemies. The true villains of the story are the world-ending anomalies, like the Scarlet King, the Devourer of Worlds, etc. Huh, I feel like I just wrote the premise for an SCP foundation anime. I should pitch this to someone and make the series real

One thing I reckon is that the serpents hand doesn’t want to release ALL anomalies. 096 for example is objectively a bad idea to release. But the reluctant dimension hopper? He should be free if he desires it. That sort of thing. Similarly they don’t think that the statue that snaps necks should be put in a museum - just that the public should know about it. Just my interpretation though

I would like to note (though probably someone else already has lol) that Dr. Gears wasn't exactly "willing" to abandon his daughter and wife. IIRC the Foundation purposely used some sort of anomaly or something secret to make Dr. Gears emotionless (well, almost). Because of that, he became fully dedicated and devoted to the Foundation, but sadly at the cost of all feelings including those of love and attachment. That's what caused him to abandon Alison and her mother, unfortunately. Whether or not Alison knows this, and whether she's trying to get revenge against her father or rescue him from the clutches of an evil organization idk.

The only time I know that the Serpent's Hand allowed the SCP Foundation to contain something was SCP-953, the Polymorphic Humanoid or the Korean Nine-Tailed Fox called a "Kumiho" (written by Dr Clef). The creature has as much predatory malevolence towards humans as SCP-106 and SCP-682. The Serpent's Hand's Korean Branch is even led by one, if not the only, of the daughters of SCP-953 and she only suggests that any Serpent's Hand Members in the Foundation Site SCP-953 is in to keep watch of it as well and that any girl that is suspected to be born from a "Kumiho" to not be informed of the truth of their birth in order to not only not let it affect their current lives but also to not risk having more fox demons to deal with.

Since you mentioned the GOC, please remember SCP-1609. That SCP is known for the fact that destroying it led to a dangerous consequence. While it seems simple, who knows what will happen if you kill SCP-953, or if it is really possible. The Article even says that while it seems possible to kill her, it is ill-advised since she has the ability to not only polymorph into other human beings but also make people see mirages that make them mistake one thing for another. Example would be trying to shoot SCP-953 but you actually shot one of your teammates, instead, due to the fact that SCP-953 psionically made you see your teammate as her.

If you ask me, for me it's like this İ always like/support the foundation, but. İ slightly support the GOC too, they just wants to destroy the dangerous anomlies. İf there's a dangerous, uncontainble anomlies, kill it/neutralize it. (Not anomlies like 682 btw) İf there's safe, or maybe very dangerous but immortal anomlies, contain them.
