open! I have cupcakes here!
My most viewed video was the DIY mold putty video and the most requests I've gotten from that vid was how i made my own cupcake base! I know making a cupcake base from scratch is very hard, especially if you're a perfectionist like me and want every space to be perfectly measured and precise then this tutorial is for you! This idea has come to me very inspirationally and I cannot tell you how good this worked for me, it is about 13 mm just like the miniature sweets mold!

A mini Reece's cup makes a great cupcake mold. Just freeze it so the chocolate doesn't melt while you are working with your mold compound. They come unwrapped, so you don't even have to unwrap it. Just pick the prettiest one and eat the rest!

can u plz help me? whenever i go through my lines with my needle tool, it scrapes the clay and tiny bits fall off and it gets deformed.

You know you could just use a toothpaste cap to make the mold 😂

Haha! I know right! I tried it with toothpaste caps but they are too narrow and there are just a lot of indentations that doesn't make the cupcake look the way I want them to! I like them chubbier more like muffins! :)

What type of clay is in the scraps? My scraps always get too soft and super hard to mold. Thanks!

They are either Sculpey, Fimo or Cernit. Cernit is by far the hardest clay I have worked with so far, but for some reason my scrap clays are hard usually. You can try hardening it by putting it in the fridge for 10-15 minutes every time you feel like its getting too soft.

every time I try to make it the clay gets deformed and the cupcake goes out of shape so any tips on how to fix it? 😊

I would suggest you to put your clay in the freezer when it starts getting soft or just choose to buy a harder piece of clay. I can imagine how hard it could be if the clay is too soft and warm.

The mold is made out of silicone but the thing I made(the base) is made out of some scrap clay I owned.

To save time just use a Rollo candy

Be careful to always sand your pieces in water. The dust is toxic.
