Hello scrapper and planet lovers. this video will show you all the free copper, steel, and other metals that are found in a ceiling fan. I will show you how to safely and effectively separate the metals in order to maximize your profit and divert as much material away from the landfill as possible.

love ceiling fans, don't forget the arms holding the fan blades, they go as cast, one-yard calls them zinc die cast, but that adds up as well. it helps to save up a few of them up and do them all at once, you can get in a rhythm, generally averaging 9 oz copper. but you see them everywhere, esp. down here in fl, one in every room.

Just found a box with 3 disassembled ceiling fans, with brass fixtures, for $15 at a thrift store. After thinking about it for a while, I bought it. Hopefully the brass covers the $15 I spent, and the copper is pure profit!

i find ceiling fans everywhere down here in florida, i've got 4 just from a couple neighbors... i think every house or apartment has at least 3. did a steel shred run this week, the guy next to me throws in 3 full ceiling fans, i see people throwing good stuff in the steel shred all the time, i want to go pick them up but i know i can't since the scrapyard is paying for them.

Nice finds on the ceiling fans for sure. I know what you mean, last week I saw a huge copper price with a thick ring of brass, guy prob. got less than half price of what he should have if he separated them
@tomitstube
@tomitstube 2 жыл бұрын
@@TinManScrapper ikr? the problem is (down here) the scrap yard paying the best price (right now) is taking just about anything, so ceiling fans with the wooden/plastic blades, lawn mowers with tires, complete microwaves, etc, etc are going in, so these guys pick up as much weight as they can, and price out every day, nothing is getting broke down... well, at least it's staying out of the landfill, would be real interested in seeing how these plants process dirty shred like this.

About 350-400g copper? Pain in the hands to take the copper out. It took me about 1 hour to take apart one that looked just like that, but I did not have tin snips handy. Mine had light cast aluminum/alloy? about 450g holding the fan blades. Those are easy to break, and brings it down to 150g if you break off the fan blades.

Depends on the person I guess. The motors do vary in size as well, but in my opinion, well worth it

@@TinManScrapper so it’s a little bit expensive to get started up as you need a lot of stuff to get started and you don’t want to start doing it until you have literally everything you need plan for something to go wrong because it will have solutions in place already but after the initial startup cost it will pay for everything you invested and more I promise you that

@TinManScrapper
@TinManScrapper 3 жыл бұрын
Rest assured, if it works I will keep them, but this one was done. To answer your question, most scrappers try to sell the items intact if they can cause they know they will make more than scrap prices. I actually store up my useable items I find on garbage day and sell at annual yard sale or donate them.
